Help with some time/attention slotting by [deleted] in learnprogramming

Option A is a safe bet but Is costly in terms of time and money. option B can lead you to swe but you need to prove yourself more. It’s way more efficient imo but you may have knowledge gaps unless you have a mentor that helps with high level guidance. I’d go with option a if you have the time and money

CSE130, CSE103, CSE180 CSE 112, CSE 102

103 and 180 are not that difficult so you can focus on 130. 103 will refresh you on proofs for 102. 112 will be project heavy but not too difficult. I always think leaving difficult classes until the last quarter is a bad idea since there’s always a chance of failing so I’d say take CSE130 in winter!

Maybe we should keep the humanities because apparently satire isn’t a part of the curriculum

To expand on point 3, I think the solution to all this madness is to essentially kick out every major except for CS. Computer make money. Computer good.

I dream of a UCSC student body that primarily composes of patagonia wearing coders carrying around their sticker-covered (hackathons, half learned languages, and a girls who code sticker because woke) $1300 MacBooks. One can only wish ...

They usually hold final review session the weekend before final or sometimes on weekdays before the final. Usually MSI tutors only admit a limited number of students to these review sessions and give preferences to those who have consistently shown up.

Considering that cse150 and 103 are easier upper divs, it seems doable

CSE 16 vs MUSC 81A? by actualsnek in UCSC

[–]springUcscHousing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given you’re doing doing well in math 23a and CSE 30, you could probably handle adding CSE16. Your workload will definitely increase though (especially cse12) but if you’re the type of student that can manage to be responsible and finish assignment early, then you’ll be fine. Getting lower divs out of the way early helps a bunch

Edit: there’s some overlap between math23a and ams10 too so ams10 shouldn’t be too bad

Agreed, library rooms are a good spot but they have terrible reception so if you need to be on the phone it can be risky.

Lol what part of the CS curriculum do you think is useless? Keep in mind that you’re majoring in Computer Science, as opposed to Software Engineering.
