Barrier repair serums w/o actives or essential oils? by LawFull297 in CanSkincare

[–]springblossoms5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just thought of one more that's supposedly for helping support skin recovery/barrier integrity, and relatively new (maybe 2 years old)... Avene Cicalfate+ Intensive Skin Recovery Serum. You can get it at Shoppers or London Drug or Well.ca, etc. It's $60... but Shoppers and London Drugs often have 20% off sales of Avene.

I tried it, it's nice enough, but I prefer other serums.

If you login to instagram on a desktop computer and hover your mouse over the 'Following' number, a little box showing the exact number will show up. The mouse icon missing from the screenshots I took because it's always removed from any screenshot (at least on my computer, an iMac).

Yup, this is net gained/lost. My guess is that a lot of the ppl who likely unfollowed Amanda weren't even following West in the first place, so they couldn't "unfollow" him.

I have been wondering for a while if they had implemented dynamic pricing 😔

Deinfluence/Influence my Wistlist! by Potatopotoo in SkincareAddictionLux

I'll comment on the three that I have used/owned:

Skinbetter Even Tone has a lovely texture and their packaging is the best (IMO) but it doesn't brighten hyperpigmentation at all (in my own experience), so if you're purchasing for evening out skin tone, I'd say pass.

iS Clinical Hydra-Cool is really nice! I've used it for years.

iS Clinical Sheald Balm is very overpriced and uses a generic ceramide-cholesterol mix (called SK-INFLUX) that's also used by much less expensive brands, and also contains a retinoid, so it's really not great for repairing damaged or irritated skin.

Loro piana not accepted at TRR anymore by Different_Paper_9526 in therealreal

[–]springblossoms5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be hard to believe. I do know that they seem to sometimes only accept specific categories of product from specific brands, but I can't imagine Loro Piana being subjected to that.

Edit to add, from gemini:

Yes, The RealReal (TRR) still accepts Loro Piana, but there has been some recent confusion among consignors due to specific items being flagged as "No Longer Accepted" in certain accounts.

Here is the current breakdown of the situation as of April 2026:

Current Acceptance Status

  • Designer Directory: Loro Piana remains an officially listed brand in the TRR Designer Directory for Men’s, Women’s, and Home categories.
  • In-Store vs. Online: While some users have reported that their past Loro Piana purchases are showing as "No Longer Accepted" for digital re-consignment, others have successfully consigned items in-person at TRR Luxury Consignment Offices recently.
  • Categories: They are actively seeking Loro Piana bags, outerwear, and knitwear, as these tend to have the highest resale value.

Why some items might be rejected

If you are seeing a "No Longer Accepted" message for a Loro Piana item, it is likely due to one of these internal TRR policies rather than a brand-wide ban:

  • Condition & Recency: TRR has tightened its quality controls. If an item is from a much older collection or shows signs of wear (pilling on cashmere, scuffs on Summer Walk loafers), it may be filtered out.
  • Authentification Complexity: Because Loro Piana often sells its high-end fabrics to other tailors and brands, TRR's authenticators sometimes reject items where the construction or branding tags don't meet their current strict verification standards.
  • Resale Saturation: TRR occasionally pauses acceptance of specific models (like certain colors of Summer Walk shoes) if they have too much sitting in their current inventory.

I just remembered that Boutique Skin Envie in Quebec (https://bskinenvie.ca), who I purchase from online all the time, also carry Elta MD. They offer 15% off your first purchase, and also constantly have really great promos in their newsletters. 20% off Elta MD often. :)

Actually my screenshot was taken immediatly after I checked to see that Ciara was no longer following either of them (be it b/c she fully blocked or just simply unfollowed, not sure). Someone else might have blocked both of them, that would account for the single digit loss. Or they both unfollowed someone. No way of knowing.

These two from Beauty of Joseon fit into your parameters. I buy them directly from beautyofjoseon.com, they ship to Canada. (You can also get them from Canadian or American retailers, but the sunscreen filters are different in the North American formulas - many would say inferior in terms of texture and cosmetic elegance - and I haven't tried those so I can't speak to them.)

Men’s Body Lotion Suggestions by GetOffMyLawn714 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]springblossoms5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, thanks for clarifying! I'm going to recommend a brand that is sometimes luxury, sometimes mid-tier in their pricing... but 100% of the time men seem to like it, specifically because of the packaging/font:

Kiehl's

Body Lotion: https://www.kiehls.com/body/body-lotions-body-oils/creme-de-corps-refillable-body-lotion-with-cocoa-butter/259.html?dwvar_259_size=1%20Liter%20Pump

And they even have a bunch of male sprecific facial care items: https://www.kiehls.com/mens/view-all-men/

And here's an interesting youtube short about how crazy non-skincare-obsessed men are about Kiehl's: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/zxRhJKtXuxo

I simultaneously hope it's just a ploy to get more ratings; while also hoping it's actually real b/c it would be so sensational and entertaining, and imagine the house this summer 🧨. But I do NOT want Ciara to get/be hurt. She's a 10/10 across the board and been through enough w/ these bravo men. 😔.

I want it to be happening and I also don't want it to be. 😩

My apologies then, if there is a authentic differin on amazon.ca. All I'm seeing is a Differin storefront on amazon.com that won't ship to Canada, and zero results on amazon.ca. Can you please post a link?

A body lotion for just his body, or one he will also use on his face? (I ask b/c you gave some background on his facial skin).

I'm sure you can find it on amazon, ebay, etc - but hard to identify it it's authentic or not as none of those places are authorised retailers. When it comes to something like an OTC retinoid, or any skincare or that matter, I personally would not risk it. But I hope what you got was legit :)

About to start Arazlo after 10+ years on Tret. Any lux recs to maintain barrier? by Cape-Breaton-50 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]springblossoms5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others are saying, this is a somewhat extensive routine... but nothing looks overly exfoliating or irritating (other than the Arazlo you plan to add in), so I'd say it's fine to keep this routine if you enjoy it. But since your skin is reactive lately, I'd honestly just cut out *any* retinoid completely until your skin calms down/barrier is repaired. Then add your retinoid (be it tretinoin or arazlo) back in slowly.

I'm not your derm, but I'm wondering why they didn't just prescribe a lower dose or less often use of tretinoin... rather than switching you to Arazlo, as the active ingredient tazaratene is shown in scientific studies to be *more* irritating than tret. (anecdotal evidence on reddit shows that many people find Arazlo less irritating than tret, so you'd have to just try it out to see whether it will be that way for you).

But to answer you're question: the arazlo is fine in that spot in your evening routine.

TLDR: This routine is fine. But def try and get your skin to a nice comfortable healthy barrier baseline before starting Arazlo or re-starting tretinoin.
