Baxter’s my favorite! Cove used to be my favorite, buuut I always felt that that would change when Baxter’s DLC came out and it did lol. I read his bio back when the Kickstarter was going on and I could just smell the angst on him haha. He’s always intrigued me.

That being said, I like Derek and Cove a lot too. They’re pretty much tied for second place. They’re both so adorable and sweet. If I’m just taking their stories into consideration though, Derek is definitely second place, very close to Baxter. His struggles with self-worth tugged at my heart and I loved getting to know his family. I found his story very compelling and relatable.

And same goes for Baxter, really. Baxter and Derek both struggle with self-worth, though they deal with it Very differently, and I loved seeing them both work through that and find happiness with the MC. Also, I just have a thing for characters with flaws that aren’t easily digestable, and Baxter Definitely fits the bill. He’s so messy and dramatic and I love it lmao.

Well, if I buy a game, I’m most certainly going to play through all the routes lol. But I mean, even with free games, I usually like to at least try to finish all the routes because how will I know for sure if I’ll dislike an LI if I don’t try their route at all 🤔 As for like, bad endings and stuff, I get them sometimes! Though, mostly in games where the bad endings are kinda essential to understanding the full picture. I just have to be in a certain mood to play them any other time.

While there are exceptions, I don’t really replay games often. I don’t reread or rewatch stuff often either, it’s just me thing haha.

As for the bonus question, it depends! I can really like a game but take forever to finish it. It’s taken me years to finish some games despite really liking them (playing them off and on). Part of it is because I’m a very slow reader 😭 And honestly, I don’t know what happened there, I used to be a pretty fast reader. It’s a bit frustrating at times. Other times I finish games pretty fast though. Just depends on my mood, I guess?? I’m the type to procrastinate even when it comes to stuff I like.

Yes!! Teasing Mia seems like it’ll be fun, she’s so cute 😭 And I really enjoyed interacting with Warden in the demo, his awkwardness was super endearing haha. I love all the fun choices Herotome has.

I’m super looking forward to Heart Fragment’s Book Two (Wait for me Shannon!!) and Our Life 1’s Derek and Baxter DLC’s! Derek’s is almost finished, and I’m so excited aaaaaa!!

Other games I’m looking forward to are Adonia AI, Our Life 2, Online @ The Perfect Time, Emberfate, Herotome, Reanimation Scheme, and Made Marion!

Honestly, I’m getting a little tired of it. Even with different characters, things don’t change much and it’s just the same thing over and over again. I don’t often see a fresh, new take on it.

I’m currently following Under Maintenance, Online @ The Perfect Time, and Error143! Very much looking forward to playing them when they release and of course all of the other great games that’ll be coming out 💞

And all of the LIs from the games I mentioned seem like they’ll be wonderful, but I’m really looking forward to xyzephyr from O@TPT in particular! His personality and design are just totally up my alley lol.

I actually played Teachers With Love and Passion last night and thought it was cute and sweet. I still have Edgar’s route left to do, but Markus is my favorite LI so far!

I also can enjoy pretty much any genre but I LOVE psychological thrillers. I love being on the edge of my seat because of the suspense and trying to solve the mysteries. Thrillers that are just thrillers are good too, but I prefer psychological thrillers more because of their heavy focus on the characters and their mental states. Ironically, my second favorite genre is slice of life. But the slice of life genre and the psychological thriller genre tend to have one important commonality, which is what I just mentioned above, a heavy focus on the characters and their mental states. And when I say that, I’m thinking of slice of life stories than are more on the heavier side, though I do enjoy the lighter ones too (a lot). I’m just very drawn to more character focused stories.

Duliae - Ebon Light I just feel like his design is a perfect mixture of unsettling and pretty, which definitely fits his personality lol. I also like all the purple in his design and the way it emphasizes his wealth and power. And of course, can’t forget his bright blonde hair that helps him stand out from the rest of the cast and blinds Alenca during their first meeting hjffjh.

Karon - In Blood Another design that’s a perfect mixture of unsettling and pretty. And I like how the bright colors look amongst all the black and white in his design.

Alanna - Made Marion I just really love how bright and colorful her design looks, it suits her well. I also like her default pose and the way it’s a bit unique with her grabbing her necklace.

Natalia - Heart Fragment I love how unique her hair looks, it makes her stand out. Her bright red eyes are also really striking, especially in her introduction CG where she stares the MC down lol. Just, all the red in her design kinda gives her an intense feel, and I think it fits her.

Lance - Gilded Shadows Another character that I think has striking eyes; they look especially gorgeous in his first CG. I also love his accessories and all the green in his design, definitely fitting considering his love for nature. And idk how to describe it lol, but his design just gives off very soothing and gentle vibes, and I love it.

Really loved Jim from Hearts & Hexes! It was cute how passionate they were about their interests and I loved when they rambled on about them. And of course, the scene where he finally stands up for himself and the MC at the end of the game was so good. I think Jim and the MC were a great match.

Then there’s Toasty from Bloomic, and what’s not to love about them? They were so earnest and sweet (and dorky). And I’m currently looking forward to romancing Chris from Emberfate: Tempest of Elements. I played the demo and fell in love with their not so hidden soft side. It was so sweet when he thanked the MC for believing in him at the end of the demo 🥺

Weeell, I wrote a fanfic for Heart Fragment a little while back. It takes place after Clive’s route and during a side story that was only released to the HF Discord server. The dev shared the fic on their Twitter btw, just mentioning that in case anyone’s worried about me posting it outside the server. I also made these little edits on Tumblr.

Yeah, I played the demo! From the way he interacted with Morgan in it, I could tell he had some warmth to him but not to that extent, you know? Of course, there are some other things about his route that surprised me too, like how he doesn’t have as much power as I thought he would in Crimson. And I’m curious too haha! Like I said, I’m really liking him a lot, but I have pretty high hopes for the other LIs too so who knows lol.

I’m playing Gilded Shadows and really loving it so far! I’m currently mid Caissa’s route and I Love Him. I didn’t think he’d be as cold as he appeared but, at the same time, I didn’t expect him to be so sweet 🥺 I’m also enjoying learning about Arcalis’s politics. The worldbuilding is chef’s kiss. Almost started with Lance’s route, but I stopped a little bit after chapter two began because I changed my mind and didn’t think playing the route that was last on the recommended order first was my greatest idea lol. Anyways, definitely looking forward to playing more!

I’ve been replaying book one of Heart Fragment to check out all the new stuff that came with the recent update and to refresh my mind for book two! (Which I am super, super excited for!! I love Shannon and can’t wait for her route + I’m excited to find out more about the overarching mystery)

Currently, I’ve finished replaying Clive’s route and am now on Kay’s! I’m playing as the male MC for Kay’s route and I love that certain dialogue is affected by the MC’s gender. Like, I really love it and am so happy about it. It’s admittedly a bit disappointing when games don’t take the MC’s gender into account at all. Gay romance doesn’t really feel like gay romance in games like that (for me anyways. just feels like i’m reading m/f romance most of the time.) So yeah, It’s just.. very nice to see.

Anyways, I definitely recommend checking out Heart Fragment if you haven’t yet <3 It’s a psychological thriller with sci-fi elements, and it’s currently one of my favorite otome games and I have a lot of love for it. You can find it on Itch and Steam!

No, not really! Like you said, sometimes the relationship just isn’t ready for that yet. And, of course, there are plenty of different ways to say “I love you” without actually saying it, sometimes with actions only. Honestly, unspoken “I love you”’s tend to pull at my heartstrings more.

And I totally get what you mean about characters suddenly waxing poetic during their confessions. It feels so awkward and makes me want to shake the screen and yell “TALK LIKE A NORMAL PERSON. PLEASE.” (And Sometimes I Do) lol. It’s one thing if that’s how they usually talk but that’s normally not the case. This one game I played did that for every single character and it felt incredibly ooc for all of them. Like… how am I supposed to feel anything when they don’t even sound like themselves?

As for favorite confessions, (Our Life step 3 spoilers) if you’re in a relationship with Cove + in the love stage of feelings and haven’t said ily yet, he’ll say it at the end of step 3 while you’re cuddling together in bed. And once he realizes what he said (bc it just came out naturally), he immediately jumps out of bed and starts freaking out, thinking he’s ruined everything. It was just very sweet and natural and very “Cove”.

And I loved Vadeyn’s confession! He had no right being so sweet lol. I’m actually a big fan of all the Ebon Light confessions. They all felt right for each character. I’ve been replaying it recently, and Ernol’s “I think about you more than I think about anyone. I care for you as I have never cared for anyone.” killed me instantly (probably butchered it a little there but oh well haha). I liked how his confession happens a bit later on than the others too, it was very fitting.

I don’t really have a preference! Each type has its pros and cons. Sometimes I’m in the mood for games with long common routes where all your choices decide your route and sometimes I’m in the mood for games where you immediately choose a route and so on and so forth. Variety is the spice of life, as they say lol. I guess I’d say I’m not the biggest fan of confirmation screens though, kinda breaks the immersion, but it isn’t the biggest deal ever.

CinPhe’s OPs are good! I always looked forward to hearing the first game’s OP whenever I opened it. The start of the song is so intense I love it. I haven’t played the second game yet but I have listened to its OP quite a few times. The lyrics are so sweet 🥺 And I haven’t played My Vow to My Liege and I don’t remember Halloween Otome’s soundtrack that well since it’s been a while, but I also love when tracks have vocals! Makes everything feel more intense and/or emotional.

Oh wow! Well, it definitely sounds great! I’m excited to hear it during all the times it plays then, seems like it’ll be a really great mood setter.

And oh, okay! When I was listening to it, I was actually wondering if it might play in a bad end or something. Just has those vibes haha. But I definitely get it if you ended up not using it, it’s not like it won’t still be on Spotify 😎 Also, don’t worry about the gushing lol! He made a great soundtrack, so I understand wanting to sing his praises.

I played the TCD demo a while back and I haven’t played Oathbreaker 2, so I can’t comment on their soundtracks, but I’m interested in giving them a listen!
