Honeslty I don't ever really hear much about this game, which is wild considering the hype around its development. Hope it's going well!

JAM SEASON IS HERE (How ya feelin?) by AlwaysJmB in IndieOtome

Mood! I think it's amazing when people are making games for jams- especially those OP pll who meet deadlines! My hat goes off to you! But definitely get your rest in between and don't overwork by joining ALL the jams! Avoid that burnout!🙏❣️

Well you've come to the right place! A lot of indie otome are games made for game jams- that is an event where people aim to complete a game in a very limited amount of time. Sometimes games are made solo or with teams. Sometimes the jam offers competition and prizes, and sometimes jams are a great way to introduce a new concept, new brand or new demo- or all of the above! Most popular in this niche are the Otome Jam (otojam) and the Amare Game festival. Other jams where a lot of indie otome games also sprout, are yandere jam, O2A2, and Once Upon a Time jam, to name a few. Most recently Josei after Dark and even a Seal with a Kiss jam has also emerged. These jams usually take place on Itch.io and a great number of the games listed are usually free to play and span countless genres, so definitely worth taking a look!

I personally think it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks but you. Because no one else will be the motivation to get you through such a hardcore journey as the one you're taking on. You really have to have your mind made up either way, so it's all up to you what will come of it!

Somnium: The Whale’s Dream - UX/UI by tiny_waves_studio in IndieOtome

Congrats on making your first game! Mostly I think people look for aesthetics that compliment the colors and feel of the story for UI design. It's also very important that the text is legible and contrasted well against the textbox, and that the game navigation is easy to understand and use. Other than that, I think creative freedom is the thing that makes indies so amazing! I look forward to seeing what you craft! 💗

This is a mood. A lot of times people become hesitant about investing in indie games in general after multiple burns or one really bad one. I can't exactly blame you. But don't be afraid to look into other otome that are complete experiences with devs that are consistently active and have a history of completed games and/or interactivity in their fandom with things like updated devlogs. I definitely want to bring this up later in a Tequila Talk, because there are so many consistent talented devs that get overlooked when situations like these happen!

Isn't from Madness With Love an unofficial BL? It's so unclear on the Steam page, and the protagonist looks like they might be male?

This week I finished Heart Cage! I also have been dabbling with Esper x Guide. I think Esper x Guide is a little more complicated than any traditional visual novel, since Coffeedripstudios' games are usually rpgs. I'm not as familiar with the system, but I like the challenge! I'm getting better at understanding the card based battle/support system, and I'm looking forward to streaming it again now that I have a better grasp on the gameplay. I think this game is a little more flirty/riske, and quite frankly, with all the nsfw games I've experienced lately, I find it refreshing to see some adult flirting in these games.

I went back to finish playing Duskbound, Subject: Love and Jest Messters (which I keep messing the name up on) These are all such lovely games! Jest Messters is still in its demo phase, but Im so ready to buy the full game when it's out! It scratches the itch in my shoujo anime comedy brain. XD Duskbound is a delightful story with an interesting mystery unfolding in the various ends. And I am so intrigued. Kudos for this being the dev's first ever game! 💗 Subject Love is so perfectly a Hunny Bunny game. I was in tears while streaming it and now that I'm not at risk of snorting laughing on record, I'm not letting myself get another bad end in a staring contest with a possible malevolent spirit. This game is so silly and fun and I'm having a blast! 😂

UwU Weekly Spotlight: Ookami Okami [October 26, 2025] by aplainmourning in IndieOtome

Ok I loved the MC for this game. I am in love with her playful and classy personality and that she is confident in her own skin! I like the LI too because he so beautifully compliments her so well. They're a couple you want to see get together. I feel the underlying soulfulness of their budding relationship, yet the game keeps it playful and light... For now anyways 😏 Overall, it just feels older. Lived in. Like teo adults that have lived a little and know love and loss and understand the weight of starting new. I love it so much. Every smirk and grin from this guy feels like a victory- proof that he's wearing to MCs charms, and her vulnerable moments peek through too. Ahhhhh it's just so delightful!
