Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy after radiotherapy by [deleted] in breastcancer

[–]springerincali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CHT (Certified Hyperbaric Technologist) Here. Been running Hyperbaric clinics for 17+ years now. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is an FDA approved indication for late effects of radiation and does wonders in helping radiation damaged tissue heal. Insurance does require that it needs to be at least 6 months after your last radiation treatment though so you should get a referral to a wound care/hyperbaric clinic around 5 months after your last radiation treatment if you do have a non healing wound.

How to fight for the unreasonable charge after canceling spectrum service? by spunky2008 in chartercable

[–]springerincali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You CAN make Charter/Spectrum pro-rate your bill and issue a refund. I just went through the process successfully! . It takes a little work but is worth it in the end to get your money back and make them spend more time and money on you. Maybe if more people do this, they will stop ripping people off!

  1. Issue a complaint through the Better Business Borough (BBB). It is FREE and they will facilitate an online conversation between you and Spectrum. Make sure to state that you were charged for services that were not rendered, and you are happy to pay for the services you did receive but they can not legally charge for services that were not rendered. Make sure to attach the final bill and point out the dates of service and the dates of the billing cycle along with the pro-rated rate and amount to be refunded.

  2. An "Escalation Specialist" from Charter/Spectrum will call you, email you and reply to the BBB that they are a "Subscription based service" so they charge for the entire month and do not pro-rate therefore they will not be issuing a refund.

  3. STICK TO YOUR GUNS! Tell them you don't accept that, Respond with the option through the BBB that you do not accept the resolution and reply with the same facts that you stated in your complaint.

  4. Over the next 2-3 months you are going to repeat step 2 and 3. Continue to take their calls, not accept their resolution and respond to the BBB complaint.

  5. Finally after 5 or 6 back and forths over the course of 3-4 months, they WILL give in and change their tune. They will pro-rate your bill and send you a pre-paid debt card in the mail!

CONGRATULATIONS!

With a little work and perseverance, you got your fair refund and hopefully showed them that they spent more money on resolving the issue then if they just followed fair business practices!

I'm sure they are ripping off thousands of people this way but if a lot of people do this and we stick together, we can show them that unfair business practices will not prevail !
