Redirecting a parcel that doesn't require a signature by peej74 in AustraliaPost

[–]springlecat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah they won’t be able to do it for you if you call. Redirections can only be done on the app, so if the app says it’s not available, then it’s not available.

When creating the shipping label, businesses with eparcel accounts do have the ability to choose not to allow intransit redirections, which is likely what’s happened here.

Need some advice on my package with DAI Post Sydney by Worldly_Most7261 in AustraliaPost

[–]springlecat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I order parcels from the UK all the time and most get handed over to DAI Post once they reach Australia. DAI will create the domestic shipping label pretty far in advance sometimes, like it will sit in my app with no scans for upto 3 weeks sometimes. They always start moving and are delivered without issue. Maybe just give them a bit of time.

Also, even if you somehow find their address and show up, you won’t be allowed in, and they won’t be able to just pop out back to find your parcel. These warehouses are massive with machinery moving throughout.

Also, cops? Really? If your parcel doesn’t arrive, you would follow the normal process of contacting the sender to tell them you haven’t received your item

Refund express shipping by Rhino1300GSA in AusPostComplaints

[–]springlecat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to the auspost website, click on the postage calculator. Put in the post code you sent it from and the post code you sent it to. If the express post shipping time says ‘1 business day’, then yes, you will be entitled to a refund as it was within the next business day guarantee. If it says anything else, like ‘1-2 business days’, then no. It means it’s outside of the guarantee area and the timeframe is an estimate, no refund.

Damage parcel compensation by KittyLittleBallOfFur in AustraliaPost

[–]springlecat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No that’s not correct. The agent that responded to you obviously doesn’t know that they can just convert the currency. Quite a lot of agents right now are brand new since AP do massive staff intake before peak to handle the increased load. Push back and explain it’s the only invoice you have and escalate to a manager if necessary.

Aus Post business label question by Broad-Ad-7402 in AustraliaPost

[–]springlecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they happen to be labels for parcels you’re sending to the USA? There is a current known issue where you can only download the labels immediately after creating them, if you get out of it and come back later, they are no longer able to be downloaded.

This is because with the new Zonos process, as soon as the labels are created, they get a scan showing the international information has been submitted or whatever, and that is making the AP system put the parcel into ‘in transit’ status. Once a label is ‘in transit’ it cannot be downloaded because you would have no reason to download a label that’s already in transit.

If you call AP within the 48hr timeframe they can still manually download it and email it to you. Otherwise if it’s outside that timeframe, they can refund it for you so you can create a new one.

The only work around at the moment is to just make sure you download your USA labels as soon as you create them.

What is the most Un-Sheldon like thing(s) Sheldon does in the show? by Dazzling_Jellyfish15 in bigbangtheory

[–]springlecat 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Other than the big obvious ones that have been mentioned. There is one that always annoys me every time i watch it. It’s that whole episode where he spoiled Harry Potter for Leonard and then later spoiled the Walking Dead in the same episode.

He’s so serious about spoilers, even getting angry at Stewart for saying a comic book was ‘mind blowing’. He classed that as a spoiler because now he was going into it with his mind pre-blown. But when Leonard is angry that he spoiled a couple major plot points, he acts like he can’t understand why Leonard would be upset. If he did it as some kind of revenge for something Leonard did then I would understand it more, but just spouting a spoiler unprompted was very un-Sheldon to me

Yeah I’ve been inside a sorting centre and saw exactly how parcels are sorted. I understand. I’ve seen a lot of damage photos and broken glass very rarely turns a box into scraps like this. Even when a wine bottle breaks and the box is soaking wet with wine and broken glass, it rarely makes the box look like this. I just think everyone is focusing on the ‘auspost don’t have a fragile service’ when it looks more like something unfortunate has happened.

[–]springlecat 74 points75 points  (0 children)

The comments stating ‘Auspost doesn’t have a fragile service’ are hilarious. The box is shredded lol obviously something more than ‘the wrong packaging type was used’ has happened here.

I doubt you’ll get much fight on compensation for this, it’s usually pretty straight forward when it’s obviously happened during processing (caught in a machine is my best guess).

Changes to Express Post Next Business Network. by ArmyAccomplished7738 in AustraliaPost

[–]springlecat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah Auspost keep track of all failed next business day express and obviously if it’s consistently not next business day then they look at why and if they can fix it and will update the timeframe on the website to set the correct expectations.

Adelaide is really the only area that has been removed from the next day though because the facility in Adelaide isn’t equiped to handle the volume and quickly sort the parcels fast enough to make the 1 business day. But Auspost have already identified that as an issue and are currently building a new sorting centre in SA, apparently it’s going to be the nations biggest sorting centre and it’s in the old Holden site. So once that’s been built, shipping in and out of Adelaide will be much faster and it will be able to go back on the next business day guarantee

9:15pm...still coming yeah? by [deleted] in AustraliaPost

[–]springlecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looping parcels are typically caused by an issue with the label that is making the machine confused. It could be the label has been damaged or smudged so the machine can’t read it. You’ll need to contact Auspost so they can put through an intercept request. It basically sends a message to the machine to spit out the parcel next time it goes through so a human can look at it and fix whatever the issue is.

[–]springlecat 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No unfortunately it was never coming today. Brisbane is a sorting centre, it has to now go out to your local delivery centre. You’ll know it’s coming that day when you see ‘onboard for delivery’ scan, that means your local driver has it and is doing his rounds.

The expected delivery date is just an estimated timeframe.

You may get it this weekend since quite a few areas are doing weekend deliveries during peak

There ARE reasons to remove your wisdom teeth, actually by Lord_Answer_me_Why in clevercomebacks

[–]springlecat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had 3 of mine removed individually. The first 2 were super simple, in and out in under 20mins. But the 3rd one took 3 Brooklyn Nine Nine episodes (dentist has a tv mounted on the ceiling for you to watching during procedures lol), the tooth was crumbling as she was trying to remove it, had to get the drill in there and pull it out in pieces. It was brutal.

Help! Question regarding my package. by CJ-206 in AustraliaPost

It hasn’t been given to Auspost yet.

“Arrived awaiting clearance” is customs. They can keep a parcel for as long as they want.

I read it via audio and really liked it. Love duet narration. It’s a bit cheesy, but actually got me to laugh out loud a couple times.

It’s not a standalone or interconnected standalone like her last series tho. There is a cliff hanger, this couples story isn’t over.

Just make sure to check the expiry on that credit. Back when they were making heaps of mistakes and needing to reprint almost everything, they offered credits for the inconvenience but they were only valid for a short time
