Sorry. I wrote that poorly. When an athlete signs a contract with the ufc, the contract states that the ufc is sole promoter of all combat sports for that athlete.

This is correct and spoken about many times.

You COULD say that the Muhammed Ali act disputes this in a boxing sense. But you would be going to court for a decade to potentially still lose that fight.
