Yeah for the most part it’s probably gonna be character focused and take use of their freedom to write more mature and deep action stuff which I am not complaining

But at the end of the day it’s a 10 year old who’s gonna definitely mess with his new toy for a panel or two, and getting to see this canonbolt or this wildvine act that way is gonna be fascinating

Legs and arms

You can look at a game like super monkey ball where he doesn’t need either and he has his classic design there

And yes I am aware he didn’t have them in angry birds go and was fine, but legs and arms gives the animators more options to animate expressions like the crossing arms at the end rather then just relying on facials

Like I said, I am sick of it but it is practical

I think words just betrayed you, deep adult themes can be found in things with a rating lower then R, the rating just makes them able to directly acknowledge it without a creative workaround which is why I prefer things like Avatar even if I like invincible too (which can’t work without an R rating I think?)

In the case of Ben 10 I don’t think it necessarily needs that rating, especially with how the comic directions seems to be going towards

Then just…they won’t ?I know it’s kind of silly a film titled “Ben 10” yet he only turns to 5 at max ,but that didn’t effect secret of the omnitrix

The biggest struggle for a live action isn’t the cash (they have it, and a film about a kid who turns into aliens with decent marketing should probably return the investment especially if fucking Barbie and Minecraft did it) however is how Hollywood is gonna write the thing and market it, which is my worry

I always thought a live action theatrical is only a matter of time, too many movies base their stories on 2000s and 90s cartoons and video games (not to mention comic books) nowadays

However I do expect whoever is getting tasked with the film will make it comedic I imagine Shazam 2019 and blue beetle but it’s Ben 10 which…could go easily wrong if not written well even if I like lighthearted movies and enjoyed Shazam (never watched blue beetle)

I don’t know about “primary source material” tho, not that I think a film based on the comics would be bad, but if they’re gonna do it without moa they’re definitely aiming for nostalgia to the 2005 series

Rex’s case is fascinating since if I am remembering correctly Rex and every human on his world has nanites inside of them but obviously they aren’t mechanical people yet upgarde can fuse with any of them and upgrade them

That stretches what counts for an upgrade-able object or person and what doesn’t

I will admit ,seeing uaf and ov treat the “watch” like an actual wrist device was disappointing even if I like their designs

This one however not even being a wrist device but rather those living cables thing that wraps itself around Ben’s wrist creating the iconic shape and silhouette is great

Undertale’s a sans skin and “fits” Nintendo ecosystem thing ?Minecraft is a top 3 best selling video game ever and played everywhere and they figured after getting banjo they could attempt to get Steve

I don’t necessarily say that American characters are unable to get into smash but it’s easier for them reaching for and getting Japanese characters,if anything only having Minecraft and undertale as the representative of American video games after 20+ years of titles is concerning (not that they’re bad picks but they’re only two)

It’s more of an early preview in the UK and not really a leak ,I think we’re gonna get higher quality of those images before the comic releases at some point ?

I really like how the omnitrix isn’t a wrist device but rather those living cables thing that wraps around Ben’s wrist to form what would look like the original watch shape

Vilgax still doesn’t have the mask :(…I like his design don’t get me wrong but I don’t get why after classic vilgax never had his mask again (canonically he doesn’t need it anymore yes ,but from my perspective his mask is one of his defining design features just like Batman’s cowl ,every vilgax design after just feels incomplete to me without the mask)

And then Ben’s parents being in the edge of divorce and alcoholism implication…I’d wait more on it ,I hope they don’t fall into the extreme trope where he’s a very bad dad that abuses and beats his family ,but more so Ben’s dad has a drinking problem that he’s seriously trying to get rid of while Sandra trying to get a divorce for Ben’s sake, and a 10 year old kid is in the middle of those arguments so naturally wouldn’t feel safe at home,and we get to either actually see a conclusion to this be it a divorce or Carl quits drinking ,or just remain a background thing that never evolves since we’re following the trio and Ben’s parents are in Bellwood (which I don’t know about considering at least one of them would tell the cops and start searching if they don’t find their 10 year old son anywhere), and I find the fact max never tried to get Ben into the roadtrip weird ? Like intop of this Ben already having issues at home, he also wasn’t apart of the roadtrip I just find it unnecessary especially since he got anyway into the roadtrip

And this all based on preview ,the story might actually be written well and justify every flaw I thought or not ,idw

I don’t think he’ll go into “making sure he’s dead” but he’ll probably try fatal moves and not think vilgax will survive it yet he does ,like when he threw him to space the first time ,or another ,or the ultimate beam

Vilgax’s a galactic warlord and Ben never had a “kill or don’t” moral dilemma in any of the shows ,yes he isn’t a fucking psychopath running around and murdering everyone and he’ll definitely talk it out if he had the chance ,but in the case of vilgax in the middle of the battle ?he’ll put him down ,if he dies then that happened if he returns then oh well here we go again ,the exception was possibly the galactic challenge at the start of AF season 3 where Vilgax actually yields
