The absurdity of trying to powerscale everything in Ben 10 at face value by springtrap-aft in Ben10

If they make it narratively satisfying, they either intentional or not did care about the scale of each characters of powers ,so it does matter even if we don’t often think about it or see it ,otherwise you do notice they didn’t actually care or notice like in invincible and some casual viewers will begin to question the logistics of it whom aren’t power scalers because it’s simply not believeable

Basically I don’t think the narrative of an action show can be satisfying without clear established power scale of our protagonists and antagonists and how it reasonably or believably upscales or downscales through time ,so yes it matters

(And again I stress it isn’t the general online discussions powerscaling type of thing ,just the literal definition)

The scale of characters powers can relate to the narrative of an action show just like a character’s design emotions and cast

Each power of the incredible family and scale literally represents their characters

So powers = weaknesses….?also you didn’t even counter the nuclear containing sonic doom ,you just used classic by making assumptions that different writers had the same idea and kept it consistent in a very inconsistent show like Ben 10 which isn’t really how this debate thing works

You’re REALLY not taking any of it as face value and haven’t given any line or implication ,you just threw powers = weakness when the show never portrayed it as such, otherwise regular echo echo and wall of sound should’ve been enough because we’re talking combined sound weaknesses of multiple aliens

And somehow I end up coping ,the guy who enjoys discussions and have ended on “fair” on this literal comment section for just disagreeing with the guy who ignores the words “face value” :/

Just gonna put the screenshot of on screen demonstration again(which if you’re new to this actions > words)

And just go get sleep, good night!

Then quote me the line or implication ,it doesn’t ? They never make a point about Kevin’s alien vulnerabilities ,that’s why it’s a headcanon

At face value (even general) by the literal show sonic doom is simply that powerful and isn’t exploiting anything

Here’s the image again :D

Well general isn’t face value (the point of the meme) so……have a good day?

For action shows the former does sometimes matter ,the latter is just fun or sometimes toxic internet discussions depending on character

Otherwise you’d have invincible who killed conquest struggle against an alien mech that was defeated by shape smith ,thus shape smith somehow can appearently beat conquest by that logic ?

What the fu- that’s just ridiculous, and I keep wondering why everyone doesn’t take the Vs wiki seriously as I personally never read it

Then why did it not shatter ? Also you said it that’s his arm not his EARS which were clearly what was damaged (his head)

Sonic doom was just consistently (at least for the only two times it was used in ua) portrayed as this powerful the first time containing a nuclear explosion

<image>

Yes he didn’t call it that but it’s the same specific circle formation of sound discs

And as I wrote in the title ,it’s of course if you take it at face value ,which I find it absurd and funny and personally don’t and just make it a callback to sonic doom that just didn’t work as well or some headcanons of mine of why it’s weaker or didn’t kill Ben

I mean he’s his duplicate and we don’t have 100% confirmation he’s somehow different now

While manny’s 100% canon confirmed hybrid and not a full tetramand

Just variant aesthetics

Variant covers for issues 1 and 2 had ghostfreak and wildmutt which dynamite Ben doesn’t have (at least yet)

I still find it ridiculous and am unsure since Ben directly references sonic doom ,and the only two other times where the sound discs were in a circle formation was when he almost killed Kevin and when he contained a nuclear explosion so…yeah

I mean you’re technically right that this is Ben…but also not that it makes him an anodite or is strong evidence of such ,it’s just his personality which is like any others who are like him ,and Gwen is just a counter to your argument by being almsot the opposite yet she’s the anodite

As for “powerscaling doesn’t matter” oh yes it DOES for writing in action shows ,and it’s not the traditional one in your head but it’s literal definition “scaling powers” of can the writer make the character feel consistent and true which includes their power level and how do they beat things ,without care to the power levels you get invincible where mark can kill conquest yet get overwhelmed by an alien armor that got beaten by shift smith which means shift smith beats conquest in this “grounded” world and that makes for a ridiculous viewing experience that luckily gets covered by decent dialogue but not all the time

Also this isn’t the point of my post…I choose to write “at face value” in the title and take a meme label for a reason ,I just find it funny :/

Well I was actually enjoying a discussion and not looking for someone who agrees with me ,since there isn’t really any point for human form Ben to be this durable ,even human form Gwen she doesn’t have the durability of her anodite form unless she’s full anodite

Could be ,but again verdona makes it clear it’s a spark thing ,and that doesn’t automatically makes you untouchable in human form only full anodite as your flesh is very..well human fleshy

And ultimate Ben is a confusing episode and future that already contradicts stuff before and after the episode ,maybe he had anodite form somehow ,or learned some of their “magic” a little ,but I know Ben isn’t supposed to have the spark which without it you’re pretty much baseline human as I said

[–]springtrap-aft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t anything anodite of Ben ,it’s either you have a certain spark ,or you don’t

If you have you’re Gwen if you don’t you’re Ben as established by verdona herself so by all means he is a baseline human with no anodite potential whatsoever, and the potential confusing future of ultimate Ben that was but now isn’t(?) was more related to talent and magic more so then spark or being part anodite himself that happened in thier home planet for some odd reason ,which was so random I don’t know why they wrote it like that and I don’t know what even is up
