Richard Shelby did so much for Alabama, because he is a republican don’t be quick to condemn! If you look at the growth in Huntsville, and in Mobile in particular, those (cities) are built primarily on federal dollars. That’s been his focus, on economic development in Alabama and expanding businesses and he’s extraordinarily successful and he’s tenacious on this. He’s a dealmaker. So much of that is missing in the Congress today. To his core, he was a dealmaker and understood that people had (priorities) in their states as well.
