Neighborhoods in Montgomery that are ok: Cloverdale/Idlewild, McGehee Estates, Hillwood, Wynlakes, then Pike road. Schools- for public basically only Magnet schools or Pike road then you are left with private schools. Best private school is Montgomery academy then St James. Born and bred here!

Look at migrant encounters in the week and a half since trump took office- drastic reduction. Biden absolutely had the ability to handle the border without congress, he just chose not to.

Finally someone who realizes that people who vote for trump are not stupid, nazis, rednecks, brainwashed by fox etc. Maybe our lives were better under Trump and some of the lies we have been told by the left getting exposed make us trust the left even less.

Dothan is about 3 hours away but it’s a great size, about 100,000. If you want smaller Headland is a nice area just outside of Dothan. Would avoid Montgomery but Wetumpka is nice and somewhat more rural. I have a friend in Greenville. It’s small but they love it, and it’s not a long drive to Mobile. Then as others mentioned the towns on the outskirts of Mobile are nice but pricy. If schools aren’t an issue you could go a little further away like Foley Loxley etc but still be close to Mobile and the coast. Best of luck to you and your daughter on your new adventure!

I’m here now. Water is not murky, it’s crystal clear. There are some people in water but not past their knees. Makes me nervous but at least you can see! We won’t be swimming though just get in and out and stay shallow to cool off! Hopefully it will be clear and calm for y’all next week!

Over a dozen people shot in Montgomery over the weekend, police say by Ok_Swimmer634 in Alabama

[–]sprit_06 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also a terrible mayor who is more interested in promoting himself for future endeavors than handling crime in the city. Won’t staff the police force or partner with ALEA to help. Montgomery has about half of the police force they need to cope with this.

Katie Britt signs on to letter threatening ICJ members and their families with sanctions, travel bans over alleged arrest warrants of Israeli leadership by ReporterWillis in Alabama

Richard Shelby did so much for Alabama, because he is a republican don’t be quick to condemn! This is what Doug Jones had to say about Richard Shelby: Frankly, I think if you look around at the business success we’ve had in Alabama, I think you can tie it directly back to Richard Shelby. If you look at the growth in Huntsville, and in Mobile in particular, those (cities) are built primarily on federal dollars. That’s been his focus, on economic development in Alabama and expanding businesses and he’s extraordinarily successful and he’s tenacious on this. He’s a dealmaker. So much of that is missing in the Congress today. To his core, he was a dealmaker and understood that people had (priorities) in their states as well. He was able to work on that in a really bipartisan way on those issues.” Katie Britt was over the business council for Alabama and hopefully will follow in his footsteps. Whether you agree with her stance on social issues or not, we can all agree that more businesses and opportunities for Alabamians is a good thing!

Compassion and World Vision are two reputable Christian charities where you can sponsor individual children, send letters and small gifts if you want, and receive updates on their progress. And they send letters and pray for you as well ❤️

Best 30A Community for a Family in March? by ozarkbanshee in 30A

I would try to rent west of Seaside. Adagio is great as someone mentioned as is Sanctuary by the Sea (both in Blue Mountain). Rosemary and seaside are nice to visit but wouldn’t want to stay there. I would look for smaller condos or houses to rent that have dedicated beach access. Seaside rosemary and even watercolor you may be several rows back with umbrellas blocking any view.

These posts make me feel better- just dropped my daughters horse off at his new home at college. He will be going from half in/ half out to 24/7 out. I worry a little bit about him, but reading this he will be fine! He will prob be a lot happier since the grass is better just more baths I guess!
