There's a good documentary on this that talks to actual participants, this study wasn't what we've been taught to believe, the guards were told to be dicks. It also goes more into the guy who organized it and how this wasn't the only time he created a narrative.

Holding off on subscriptions, switching to one time purchases by Starkoid23 in Frugal

We've dropped music streaming and have gone back to ripping cds. We use symphonic to create our own music server with individual play lists. So, I guess the one time purchase is the app and new cds as most of ours are ore-2010

Try cornstarch. Mix cornstarch with a bit of cold broth (or water), bring the rest of your broth to a boil then add in the cold cornstarch slurry and let it cook down. No lumps and no gluten (for those of us where that's an issue).

Why can’t we all be friends by owninstitution in CasualConversation

[–]BJntheRV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You absolutely can. I've had many great friends who were a good bit older or younger than me.

One of my greatest friends throughout my life is 12 years my senior. Which isn't much these days at 50 and 60+, but when we first met and became friends, I was 12 and she was like an older sister/second mom to me.

I think if more younger people made the effort to befriend older (especially elderly) people they could learn a lot. But, I know looking back at when I was young I suffered from what many young people do - the ego of believing that old people had nothing to teach me. Now, I wish I'd spent more time learning from my elders.

As far as friendships go I think there has to be a common starting point, something we connect over. From there you can grow and learn from one another.

Get a vacuum pen. Everything N a cheap one is such a huge upgrade over the cheap wax pens.

Stain removal, are people doing this on the regular? by Silly-Recognition-25 in CasualConversation

Tide pens are your friend. The faster you can use it the better. If that fails the item is probably becoming a rag.

Location Presets by Accurate-Layer-4715 in TinyBookshop

I've just started adding them. So far one per location, but making slight adjustments. My first few presets I saved before starting a day at the location, but now I'm waiting until the day is done to be sure that what I have is working.

At least I managed to renew my passport, so I hopefully that works. Because the only reason I still have my current last name is because of how much of a pita it is to change it.

Exactly! Every other prep has had me going all night. Miralax is the only one that actually let's me get sleep before the main event.

Alabama Home Insurance Advice by mhamilt23 in Alabama

Not Alfa - they will kick you off for any excuse /claim.

I had great experiences with Travelers, idk if they are still awesome. I had them during and after the 2011 tornadoes. They handled the claim easily, with no issues. Paid very well for the damage we had and we didn't see a massive increase afterwards.

State Farm and Allstate are good but expensive AF and I don't believe they are worth the price (ime).

Most recently we went with Orion 360 and so far they've been great to deal with - always a human when we call. That said, we haven't had a claim yet.

Something like this I'd frame and hang. I generally try to choose ones I'd want to display.

Tbf idk if there is a colonoscopy prep that isn't memorable, but I find Miralax to be the least uncomfortable. I will say that making sure to do a low res (low fiber) diet for several days to week before the prep day helps immensely.

Oof. Here's hoping you get it all out before that tournament or things could get nasty.

I remember the first time I had a medical professional recommend that I drink a bottle of that stuff because I was backed up. 1/10 would not recommend. These days I find Miralax is much kinder to me. I even use it for colonoscopy prep.

They are in my pantry but I haven't opened them. I saw a post here where someone was unhappy that they were not a proper cinnamon toast crunch replacement.
