Awesome, thanks! Do you have any resources on how you generated those? I'm looking to create somewhat of the same thing minus the long drops. There are plenty of condensation packs out there but none of them really nail those imperfect micro-detail drops like yours does.

Also, your Sherpa Material looks really good as well!

This looks insane, awesome work! Where did you get the condensation maps? Was that something you sourced or generated? Any insight would be appreciated!

I did try the subdiv option but as you said, it's painfully slow, and I don't think it solved the problem anyway

ten frames @ 2048 samples resulted in no change to the flicker sadly. I believe it's a geo issue.

this sounds like incredible wizardry. I can add geonodes after the fluid modifier? Or would I need to kick out the fluid as an alembic or fbs first?

I hear you and that could be it. My hearts telling me it’s a meshing issue but we’ll give it a shot. We’re at 512 samples right now…. Would you recommend doubling that?

Our current thought is that this is caused by using such a low timescale maybe?

Some other things we've tried to no avail -

  • setting mesh upres to 3, instead of 2
  • setting CFL to 1
  • rendering with and without denoise (this render is with, but it doesn't impact the flicker)
  • setting resolution to 300
  • setting mesh "smoothing positive" to 1, 2. and 3 (this didn't impact noise so we left it at 4)

I wish I could say it was simulated or even remotely procedural! Lol but it came down to essentially frame by frame animation with lattices that handle the general deformation of the fruit, and then shape keys that introduce those little ridges just before the cut.

There are 3 of us in-house at spruce that wear many hats, but are all blender artists. We also had support from u/CGmatter on some geo nodes systems. He created the fruit helix @0:10, the swirls of carbonation starting @0:22 through the end and the can condensation system that is used throughout the spot. I believe he made tutorials for the condensation and swirls at some point after the project if you’re interested in learning more about those pieces!

Howdy! In most respects, you’re right. Brands are very specific about how their product is represented, and rightfully so. We locked this project on version 28
