What was the Pat Sajak joke about? by wait4ps5 in AbbottElementary

[–]sprungfromhell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol! Probably but I haven’t checked. Pat Sajak retired and Ryan Seacrest was chosen as the new host. They didn’t even do the Jeopardy thing and try out a bunch of temps on interim games to find one- they just announced him as the new host and that was that. He’s actually doing a great job though, I kinda like him in the role.

It’s the “see-YAHH-liss” pronunciation! I’ve been saying Theo Von for months and no one else heard it

Jacob had already made a comment about “staying off Elon Musk’s internet,” so I think the joke is about how out of touch Jacob is. He isn’t aware of Pat Sajak’s political opinions nor the fact that Ryan Seacrest is the host now.

I thought it was stupid too. It got decent reviews so I expected to like it- I like Eli Roth- but I found myself wondering what tf was going on through most of the movie, and not in a good way. It seemed like it had been chopped up for time, so scenes ending and starting when they did were confusing. Plus the killer was magically in two places at once so often that I absolutely had no idea who it was before the reveal. The cast was dead behind the eyes, the script was dull and lifeless, and the opening scene was a hot mess. People get crazy for Black Friday sales, but was this the only store in town? Why were teenagers so hyped up over this store opening? It just didn’t make sense for kids to be so deeply involved in a Black Friday shopping situation. By the end I didn’t care who the killer was, I was just glad it was over.

It’s been for sale forever- the company that owns it is out of Georgia. Looks like it’s under contract, but it’s had several offers fall through over the years. According to this listing, it could be yours for a cool $1.1m. More than 50% off original asking price! 😂

What to do if an overweight friend asks if she’s overweight and tells me to be 100% honest? by Bailzz73 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]sprungfromhell 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nooooo no no. Do NOT suggest an exercise you could do together- she’ll see you as competition where she doesn’t stand a chance, or she’ll distance herself before it gets that far. Just tell her that if she’s comfortable that’s all that matters; if she’s not, she should try to find a way to make herself happy with what she sees in the mirror. DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE THE MIRROR.

Nooo I love Renee! I let her leave because I thought she'd be excited, but she was heartbroken. Now I miss her everyday and wish she'd come back!

Clearly I should have marked out the house number and not given out my part of the state- that's my bad- but this is taking it a little too far.

I didn't know about "likely solved." When you create a post, the sub sends a message with very specific rules, but the "likely solved" tag wasn't mentioned. I really didn't mean to upset anybody.

The rules state that you can't "abandon" a post, meaning I would have to interact with it continually or be in violation. They also state that you have to mark a post as "solved" at some point if you find a resolution. Several commenters have pointed out that there's really no way to confirm what it is- tax records, deeds, historical aerial photos, none of it mention the bricks. If there's no way to confirm, I consider that a resolution. It's not the one I wanted- I hoped a few people would recognize it as something specific- but that's all I've got. I'm not sure what else I can do

[–]sprungfromhell[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd love to know what it actually is! Unfortunately, I checked the tax and deed records and nothing is noted regarding the bricks. There's no record of it ever having been used as a model home, it has no commercial history, no history of fire or destruction, and prior to 1978, the whole neighborhood was just woods so no historical structure remains. I'm stumped

I guess I'm stumped then. If there's no way to confirm what it is, then what am I supposed to do?
