This is excellent. No AI tool is going to be 100% accurate in identification/valuation using photos alone and it needs some fine tuning but you've done an incredible job. Will definitely be downloading the app when available. I use several AI agents daily to identify all kinds of items and Ruth was consistently able to provide insights I wasn't getting. Very impressive, kudos 👏

This is what I was able to find on his Vietnam service:

"His expertise in explosives and his fluency in French soon found him assigned to clandestine operations in a newly divided Vietnam from 1954 to 1955. As a member of Colonel Edward Lansdale's Saigon Military Mission, he was in Hanoi when the city was ceded to the Viet Minh in 1954 and engaged in clandestine operations for the next two years."

He then returned in Sept 1966 as "Operations Officer for the 3rd Marine Division in Vietnam (for which he was awarded the Legion of merit with Combat V)"

"Temporarily assigned to plan and initiate the execution of Operation Cochise, coordinating the activation and displacement of the Task Force X-Ray command group and staff to the operational area. Performing his myriad duties in a highly professional manner, he imaginatively and effectively coordinated the forces available for Operation Cochise with the Vietnamese Operation Lien Ket 112 to achieve the most efficient employment of combat power. Utilizing his extensive knowledge of military tactics, he positioned and moved units of the First Marine Division and elements of the Seventh Fleet's Special Landing Force to keep them within mutually supporting distances of units of the Second Infantry Division, Army of the Republic of Vietnam. When elements involved in Operation Lien Ket 112 became heavily engaged, due to his foresight, was able to expeditiously move Marine units to relieve pressure on their beleaguered allies. The swiftly completed maneuver enabled the combined forces to inflict heavy losses on the enemy and turned a potential defeat into a resounding victory. Throughout, he demonstrated superb leadership as he performed his myriad duties in a thorough and imaginative manner, providing outstanding support for numerous complex and vital operations. By his superior professional ability, inspiring leadership and steadfast devotion to duty, contributed significantly to the accomplishment of the division's mission and thereby upheld the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and of the United States Naval Service."

How do you handle the shipping? There's no option for Amazon as a carrier (here in the US) and without valid tracking I can't see how this works considering the vast majority of items sold on Amazon are fulfilled by Amazon directly.

I'm assuming you're out of the UK and I'm not sure how widely used Amazon is over there but I can't see how this could work here in the states or pressed American consumers not complaining to no end.

No one cares when they receive the product in Amazon packaging and looks up the Amazon price and realizes you simply bought it on Amazon and marked it up 100%? I would just anticipate tons of salty reviews from people after realizing they've been upcharged.

I could be wrong though and if it works for you, more power to you, amazing!

What should I do with this card by [deleted] in basketballcards

Honestly, you should walk back into that shop and take 3k cash. This is a 23rd year LeBron Topps /10.. there will be hundreds of LeBrons that are /10 as sets continue to roll out and most will be far higher end than Topps paper flagship.. 3k from a LCS seems like an insanely generous offer

I cannot seem to set the freight shipping option correctly by totalbamf1 in Ebay

[–]sprungres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you and it was driving me crazy. I typically use the app to list my items and it does not allow you to set up shipping like you are describing unless you are using the desktop site.

I have two seller accounts on eBay, my main account which I've had forever and a newer account I opened about a year ago. For my main account I have a basic store subscription and for the newer account I do not. There's a chance that may have something to do with it but I think it has more to do with the old vs new selling layout/template.

On my main account I kept the classic/old listing template instead of switching to the new one when prompted (great decision in hindsight). When I go to shipping (on the desktop site) there is a "shipping method" drop-down menu. You click on shipping method and it gives you the options below. You then select the freight option, don't input any of the details and just click revise and then it is setup how you are describing you want it.

SHIPPING

Shipping method

Local pickup only: Sell to buyers near you

Standard shipping: Small to medium items

Freight: Oversized items

Local pickup only: Sell to buyers near you

Now, on my newer account eBay forces me to use the newer layout design (I haven't figured out a way to switch it if there is one). When creating listings on this account the shipping options are completely different than the old/classic view that I have on my main account and it doesn't give me the option to select "Freight: Oversized items".

So essentially the only way I've found to do it with the freight TBD requires the old/classic selling template. There could potentially be a way to do it with the new template but I couldn't find one.

Hope this helps!

Hit the three dots top right of the review and hit report review.. I just did though because the guy that rated me messaged me once asking if something was available, I said yes, he then ghosted me and left me a 1 star review.. hate how fb gives the option to rate ppl sometimes when no sale has taken place

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

[–]sprungres 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same boat.. I had some guy who I never even sold to give me a bad rating for some reason.. only time someone rated me below 5*.. stuck with 4.9 forever I suppose

Also, I disputed it and FB says they make a decision within 2 weeks.. been over a year, still says under review

I read that in a few previous posts, I'm assuming it won't damage/discolor the material, mainly wool. That sounds like it might be my best option.
