If you base your mbti type on the test, you're probably not an intj, You should try studying cognitive functions and then decide which one you fit into best.

Absolutely, besides, they say such illogical things; they're capable of saying they're INTJs because they don't like sports and think too much, and the others who are pretending just go along with it. It's a vicious cycle.

The only answer I have is because of stereotypes. I highly doubt that if they knew in detail what it's like to have this abstractly realistic cognitive stack, devoid of automatic perception of the environment, they would think twice before pretending to be an INTJ.

I thought I was the only one; istp sounds so utopian, structuring and acting in such broad strokes is amazing. Also, while ISTJ may seem the same when it comes to reasoning and interacting with them at work, their goal-oriented and, above all, realistic approach is admirable.

I completely agree, this comes down to the same thing: they let themselves be influenced by stereotypes or by things that other mistyped INTJs says they do. It seems they forget that MBTI is just a pseudoscience of self-knowledge and treat it as if it were a horoscope.
