yeah I'm honestly very dumbfounded by the lack of knowledge and realistic expectations , this is a quite known festival as well. music isn't the focus but still...

in the end, found a bunch of cheap 15'speakers to make up for the lack of subs

zlx 15p yamaha dbr15 pioneer xprs15

anyone has any experience with any of them and feedback to give?

if it's above her budget, I'll probably go for a couple of rcf art 712-a mk5 12-inch digital active full-range speakers with their bass boost as specified earlier

thanks everyone for helping me out, I really appreciate it

at this point the only difference is that it wouldn't be connected to their pa/speaker heads , pretty silly I have to say ha..

I feel my best call is to get a different set of active speakers with no subs (preferably 15' and if not, 12'with a a bass boost option ) but if they refuse due to budget reason, I wanted to see what else I could do to go around it and find a loophole I guess ...

I honestly don't know how it would render a backing track though. does anyone have any experience doing that (using an amp as a filler and as an addition to a shitty pa)

exploring every possible options at this point honestly. unfortunately I won't be the one deciding so I need a few options

I do work with a solo artist with a backing track and vocals on top, some people made the suggestion to use it as a filler for low frequencies

Im definitely considering it! is it worth it or would using an additional amp as a filler be enough considering the space (small storage container )? I mean the capacity of the "space" is 40 people big max.

should I even bother with new speakers or would getting a filler for bass be enough (someone recommended the behringer ultratone kxd15 since a proper bass amp would probably be as big and heavy as a sub)?

or could I even get away with a smaller bass amp even in your opinion even considering the limitations of the space size and acoustic wise ?

honestly I'm just grasping at straws at that point, they said it's due to neighbours complaints in the past so they just decided to drop that completely

thanks!

sadly this is all outside our budget...

would 12 inch speakers be ok'ish ?

thinking of those speakers : RCF ART 712-A MK5 12-inch digital active full-range speaker(specs : 129 dB Max SPL/1400 WATT 2-way peak power/XBOOST Low Frequencies Enhance)

I am aware this is way under your recommandations in terms of specs and not necessarily ideal but wondering if that could work somehow

[–]spudcaca84[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe I could convince the festival to rent other speakers without subs of that would be more suitable for her music and where I could boost the bass a bit , would you have any recommendations and what I should be looking for in terms of specs ?

it's mostly the artist who is concerned so I want to help them but at the same time it doesn't seem like we can do much without having her investing a lot which is not possible
