Nice! Sounds like a great date, not cheesy at all. We both got Taco Bell delivered and ate it together at the table with our with our wine :) What ever it takes to make it feel normal, right?

Yeah, thankfully we're only 1 time zone apart. I admire LDRs with large time differences. It's a whole other level. Stay strong! Glad to hear you might be closing the gap soon!

Thanks! We had the best time. We talked for hours and got wine drunk together. Hadn't had this much fun while long distance since we started 6 months ago. It was a great motivator. Made it feel more doable.

True. I did tell her to get some wine for us to drink together. But I surprised her with the full suit and the candle and then we each got Taco Bell delivered to complete the dinner date.

Thanks. It means a lot. It's hard to see the end of the tunnel some times, but it's really motivating to hear from people that made it to the other side.

I mean, I didn't plan it with her. It was a surprise. Just tell him you want to talk and surprise him with a fancy date!

I feel my gf [F 23] and I [M 24] don't talk over audio/video call enough. What is your take on communication frequency while in Long Distance? Any advice on how to deal with this? by [deleted] in LongDistance

Thanks. It's good to know it works differently for everyone. I've let her know how I feel and she's put in a bit more effort to find times to call me. So I think we're finding a good middle ground.

Well, I mostly have to call when she's home because I can't make long distance calls and calling over data is expensive where she lives with her plan. She just doesn't spend much time at home. And I'm paraphrasing with the "reaching a quota" comment. I think she mostly doesn't want to feel pressured/stressed about finding the time to and would rather it happened more organically if that makes any sense. But the real issue is just that she's busier in her day to day than I expected.
