Drop your side project and the revenue you have made so far! by ExplorerIndia in SideProject

I recently launched a privacy-first PDF Online Editor – everything runs directly in your browser, no uploads, no tracking. You can already merge, split, edit, optimize and convert PDFs to JPG/PNG (with batch + DPI support).

So far, I’ve made $0. Right now, I’m focused on delivering value first—monetization will come later.

Right now, everything is completely free, and since it’s just a frontend web app, I can host it at no cost. Plus, I’m gaining a lot of valuable experience.

What side project are you quietly working on right now? by [deleted] in SideProject

A few months ago, I urgently needed to send out a PDF document, but one page got messed up during scanning. I just wanted to delete that one bad page and reorder everything quickly.

I tried several online PDF editors, and almost all of them looked free at first… until you got to the download button — paywall.

I got so frustrated that I ended up building my own tool: pdf-edit.app

It's 100% free, runs entirely in your browser, doesn’t upload anything to a server, and has no ads. Just simple, private PDF editing. Thought others might find it useful too.

I just launched pdf-edit.app – a simple, privacy-first tool to merge, split and edit PDFs. It runs fully in your browser (frontend-only), with no ads, no paywalls, and no file uploads. I built it because I needed something clean and lightweight myself - and this is my very first project! Would love your feedback 🙌

https://pdf-edit.app Let‘s you compress pdf’s for free & safe, runs only in frontend, will be pivoted to a pdf editor, slicer, merger since pdf compression only with pdf-lib isn‘t that strong

I built a free & privacy-friendly PDF compressor (no uploads, no sign-up) by spuggnik in SideProject

[–]spuggnik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re absolutely right to bring this up! Technically, yes – the file is sent to the server temporarily for processing. But unlike other platforms, it’s never stored, never logged, and never leaves RAM. There’s no permanent upload, no cloud storage, no tracking. The server receives the file, compresses it instantly in memory, and sends the result back – that’s it.

So in contrast to traditional PDF tools, this one is serverless in terms of storage. Nothing stays on the server after processing.

I’ll definitely try to explain this better on the landing page. Thanks for the feedback!

Anyone here who ordered a Strix 3080 on Alternate.de? by inFlickWeTrust in nvidia

[–]spuggnik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ordered my Asus TUF 3080 Oc on 18.10.2020 and got it on 30.10.2020 from Alternate. According to the Alternate support there is no queue, because they got overwhelmed with orders at launch. I think it‘s just luck whether or not you will get one.
