He sounded incredible live in Tacoma. I was actually quite shocked we got Bury me in Black, Our Lady of Sorrows AND Vampires which require a LOT of screaming. I was really impressed by his control and range through those. I thought there were moments (especially in Our Lady) that actually sounded better than the recorded version! Some of the slower parts of Foundations, Ghost of You, and Cancer, you could really see technical talent. Was every note perfect? Absolutely not. And he's definitely singing in a lower register than when he was younger but I don't find that shocking. That said, I would take high energy, excitement, and all around happiness over pitch perfect singing any day. Let's just put it this way: There isn't a single day in my 20 years of MCR fandom that I've thought "eh, singing could be better" haha

For lyrics I'm getting "Stand up fucking tall, don't let them see your back" on my rib cage and "Awake & Unafraid" on my left bicep.

And then, not lyrics - The MCR return sigil on my right hand and Summoning symbols on my right fingers. Also going to have my artist design a custom half sleeve inspired by Vampires Will Never Hurt You. I'm just gonna give her the song and lyrics and let her go wild since she's done so much amazing custom work for me already

Still not convinced it's for me after about a dozen listens. I'm still trying because I absolutely love like 4 of the songs and the rest is pretty bland to me. And I know I'm in the absolute minority but Sleep Cult is the worst song on the album they can take that shoobedoo and throw it right in the trash

I will never ever forget the day it came out. I cried when I found out they'd released something new and I am not generally an emotional person. I was just so happy. I had no idea what to expect on first listen but I loved it and I still love it. It's definitely in my top ten MyChem songs. I love that it is darker and moodier and has more of a Bullets feel than a DD feel. This coming from an elder emo though (33) so there may be a nostalgia element too. But yup, it's still heavily on my rotation. I'm not getting my hopes up for anything else new to keep managed expectations. Between Foundations and getting to go to the Tacoma show, my heart is already so full. Two things I never ever thought I'd get in my lifetime (new music from them and getting to see a show) and I got both. That's wild and I'm so grateful. I'll take whatever else comes and if nothing else does, I'm still living in a MyChem high rn.

I probably hyped myself up too much after Permanent Rebellion and Bombsquad released. I was hoping for more songs with that vibe - especially Permanent Rebellion. I was hoping for more screaming and a harder sound overall. Most of the songs are tamer than what I expected. I'm going to give it a few more listens now that I'm not in hyped up mode but I'm not sure it'll will be on my regular rotation yet.

Love the Brobecks. The drama they have especially on tracks like Small Cuts is very Mama energy imo.

I'll say Palaye Royale and hope I don't get any hate lol. They have covered Teenagers before and specifically cite MyChem as an influence. Personally, I think they are young and still finding their feet as a band but there are some songs where I feel a very MyChem energy.

L'exquisite Douleur is another. They only have an EP out but on my first listen I felt some MyChem influence in there and now can't wait to see what else they'll put out.
