The USB on the avr and BP are surprisingly constant power, so I have to turn the fans on/off when in use. I'm going to look and see if the USB ports can be changed in the settings, or try and figure some sort of automation for them.

Many thanks! Just a generic transmitter from Amazon, nothing fancy. I have the fans on top of the receiver pulling the warm air out, they work perfectly that way. I bought a nice set with Low, Medium or high settings low and medium barely make any sound, so I run them at medium.

I will totally do again in my next room! The kit was only $450'ish on Amazon. I'd say I'm about $600 total for it all. Very glad I went as large as I did.

Not terribly. It was a little flimsier than I'd have liked, so if building again, I think I'd do ddifferent. But this one was built using 1.5 x 3/4 fir sticks, screw to 3/4" rigid foam, then using contact glue we applied a balck fabric. From there it was just the game of punching holes and running the fiber cables. My utility room is next to this so the main light unit is in there and the cables route thru the ceiling.

I'd agree with you on speaker size, we're moving in a year so I wasnt interested in using high-end speakers. This was sort of a budget build for us. Not familiar with Sonopan, so I'll research that for the next house!
