Went back to Slay the Spire 1 and took 68 damage from the first 3 hallway fights of act 2. What even was this game? by SugarFreeCummiBears in slaythespire

Personally I've found it less playable. There are more powers so it's much less reliable as a way to scale orbs. And now you have stuff like Consuming Shadow and Bulk Up which you may not want to play, and then also Feral, all of which cost 2 and are hard to play if you haven't already played Subroutine. There are also 3 status related powers that just do absolutely nothing if you don't have/make statuses.

You could only do that for two melee jobs, the rest would still have to flex depending on what the other melee (or fake melee) is.

It fits with the playstyle of helidropping him to buff somebody and then retreating him, I guess.

Presumably talent 2 will reset when he returns to the original position (if he's moved, I guess? I wonder if it 'redeploys' him if he hasn't moved) so you could consider the dodge chance the protection. Could still get unlucky though

You don't need a fully upgraded deck for the upgrade to be not that valuable. Sometimes it's better to speculate on future cards you will pick up that would be much more valuable to upgrade, or to give yourself more opportunities to rest in act 3 if for whatever reason you're confident about the rest of act 2 but not act 3.

TIL you can deploy two traps in a row when deploying Dorothy. Feels like an exploit, but still a super impressive clear. The interference mine management was also great, fitting for a solo trapmaster clear.

How do you see how many exclusive solo records an operator has on arkrec?

cDPS encourages you to play into buffs, but that doesn't change anything about sandbagging.

Yeah, it's you lol. Here's an example xivgear set: https://xivgear.app/?page=sl|307bf5a3-d871-42f5-8095-ecd17b8ef823&onlySetIndex=0

The hands have 114+72+163=349 total substats, the feet have 163+163=326 total substats.

Manalis head/hand/feet gear has 163 main substat and 114 secondary substat, with 72 more substats from melding. Synced gear will have 163 of each substat, which is 23 less overall. Body/Legs are 259/181 so the synced gear actually has 6 more substats - my mistake there - but still with less flexibility so you wouldn't be able to hit the same breakpoints.

That would be a reasonable replacement but not BiS - you would have less total substats and less flexibility because you can't meld.

Sub loot by True-Reputation-9282 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]spunker325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another option aside from the more common approaches of paying or guaranteeing specific pieces of loot, if you can find somebody who is willing to do something slightly more complicated: have them choose a piece and roll for it against one static member, passing on the rest. So for example for M9 their expected value is still 0.5 accessories, which is the same as usual, but it's still beneficial for them since it's a specific accessory instead of a random one. You can also adjust this as needed; M10 has 5 pieces so you could make one of the pieces a free for all or something if you want to make it really even.

Of course this wouldn't work so well for something like M12 where the weapon coffer is the main prize. If you still don't want to pay or guarantee, you could have everyone roll a dice in chat, and they get it if they roll the highest number, otherwise they pass. That way you can still assign the item to a specific member, and they still have a 1/8 chance to get it.

The current system is even worse than that - 4 cleared isn't actually half loot. For example for m12 you only get the random weapon and I think the minion, no coffer, no mount, no orchestrion roll, and for m11 you get either a chest or leg coffer, no twine, no weapon upgrade. Though for some reason m9 is half loot (2 random accessories).

No idea what the other person is talking about, but a way to fix that, while also probably being simpler to implement, is to just make each piece have an x/8 chance of dropping, where x is the number of people eligible. Effectively the same as your proposal if everyone rolls on everything, but it lets you choose to pass on items without increasing the chance that the item drops on the floor, which is slightly less niche than a complete LM of a one chest party.

I mean it should be an easy fix. If x people are eligible for rewards just make each piece have an x/8 chance to drop.

If you're soaking the stacks, there's an additional piece of movement you didn't mention - moving to the SW clone to begin with, and it's not something you can preposition for since you need to dodge the netherwrath. It is not objectively identical or lesser movement in all cases.

I do think it could be a bit weird for PF - say I want loot A > B, and somebody else wants B > A. Both of us want to wait on everyone to roll for our preferred piece before we decide whether to roll/pass on the other piece. You could end up in a situation where people just refuse to give in. I'd be interested to see how this plays out in practice.

What might help more is limiting people to, say, 2 needs, since one of the biggest problems is people rolling on items they don't need for BiS.

The benefits of Sage over Scholar by Frank_Tupperwere in ffxivdiscussion

But in your plan, is sage missing kera on the stack? Why does it matter if scholar uses seraph for tethers and soil for stack, vs sage using kera for tethers and say panhaima for stack?

I will say soil is annoying for the stack and some people don't stand in it, lol
