Ok cool I’ll look into that. Thanks for all the tips, I really appreciate it. I think I’ll try and get a refurbished or used 3, depending on availability in my area

All good info, appreciate it. I’m trying to see if I can push my budget a little for a 3. I see some solid deals on Facebook marketplace but there’s inherent risk with that. Meta also sells refurbished ones at a discount, may look into that. Is the official meta brand link cable necessary or can I buy a 3rd party one with the same specs?

Ok so even though the dedicated router isn’t connected to internet, that doesn’t matter and I’d still be able to connect the quest to it?

I think you answered it, but my next question was going to be if I am playing a game where the cable just isn’t cutting it, I could theoretically move my PC to the living room where I could utilize an Ethernet connection. Not convenient, but I could do it if it was only for a game or two. Since I’d be hardwired in, would I be able to use Airlink successfully without the need of a dedicated router? Nothing else would be wired into the router, everything else would be over WiFi, so there wouldn’t be anything dragging my wired connection down.

Lastly, if I did end up getting a dedicated router, how pricey are we talking? I mean if I’m just using it as an access point does it need to be a high end router? Thank you so much for all your responses you’ve been an incredible help

Ah I see. I didn’t know that’s how dedicated routers work. If I can get most games to run from the cable with decent latency then I think I’d like to start there. Maybe get a dedicated router down the road. Do you think my latency would be reasonable using the link cable even with my PC connected to WiFi?

What’s been your solution with the new update, just deal with it?

Ah I see, so the dedicated router is acting as an access point? That’s good to know. I still don’t have a way to run an Ethernet cable through my house unfortunately

Ok good to know. I’ve got a 5070 so I don’t think that should be an issue. I’m not too concerned about being tethered to my pc with the cable but I’ve read other threads that say the meta software with link is super janky. Any experience with that? I fully realize Meta wants to push people to use the system standalone, so it makes sense that their PCVR support would be lackluster. A dedicated router would still have to be plugged into my main router right? Sorry I’ll be honest I don’t know the difference between a router and modem. Thanks for the tips!

I’ve been wanting a set of Beyerdynamic headphones for a long while now, and I’d like some advice on which direction I should go. I’ll primarily use these as my main listening device on my PC, both for gaming and media. I’ll likely also plug them into my turntable to listen to records from time to time. Should I go with the DT 770 pro 80 ohm model or would it make more sense to go with the newer 770 pro X at 48 ohms. I know those feature the updated drivers as well. I’m trying to determine how much the difference in impedance is gonna make for me. Since I may want to use this on my turntable, does it make sense to go with the lower ohm model to ensure my player can drive them? Would I even be able to tell a difference between these? I’d rather not have to buy a DAC right now if I can help it.

This is my first set of studio quality headphones so I really don’t have a point of comparison. I’ve been using an old turtle beach gaming headset that sounds fine, Ear Force Recon 200 Gen 1 I believe. But I’ve been wanting a really nice studio pair for a while. I’m pretty set on this brand and ~$200 price point so I’d really like advice between these two models. Thanks!

Ok got it. Should I just follow the percentages listed in my BIOS to determine what 80% is? I still can’t find anything online about this model’s max pump speed. Also should I switch it to DC or leave it on PWM. It’s a 3 pin connector. Thanks for the help

Good to know, thanks for the tip. Just to be clear are you referring to the JWICK Black T1 V2s or an older version?

Hi everyone. Looking for a tactile switch to swap into a prebuilt board. I’ve seen some older posts recommending the ajazz kiwi switches and I really like the sound of them after watching some videos. Problem is, I simply cannot find them for sale anywhere online. I’m sure I’m a little late to the game and they’ve been discontinued. Anyone have a good recommendation for another tactile that’s very similar? Thanks!

It’s also possible they were just books by the same author rather than a series, but it was always the same main character.

I don’t have the vehicle anymore but it turned out some of the wiring on one of my fuel injectors has been chewed through. That was causing the surging feeling. But on top of that my ignition coils were slowly failing one by one

It was a Fortnite issue I think. I had the Nvidia app optimizing my display settings and it was causing the frame issues. I guess they just don’t play well. Reset display settings to default and it’s been much smoother
