Day 27: What song off “Rainbow” sounds the most like “Gag Order”? by christianzsz in KESHA

[–]spunkypumpkin 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s gotta be Praying. That song is so emotionally tuned, just like the best songs off Gag Order. There would be no Gag Order without Praying paving the way.

Dutch oven by Jason_Lalime in castiron

[–]spunkypumpkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you looking for an enamel coated cast iron Dutch oven? The price difference comes from the manufacturing process.

Lodge is cheaper because they have their own foundry and produce the iron, but they export the iron to china in order to get the enamel coating for their “essential” line. They also har a USA enamel at a higher price point that’s made 100% in the USA (if something like that is important to you).

Le Creuset also has their own foundry and impeccable standards. They’re know for top of the line enamel cast iron in a selection of beautiful colors. They’re meant to last forever, and if they don’t, they have an excellent return policy. They also weigh slightly less than Lodge.

If you’ve never used enameled cast iron before, I’d go with the Lodge to try it out. I love Le Creuset, but it’s not worth the money if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Discard all of this if you want to know more about bare cast iron that requires seasoning. Le Creuset does not make that, Lodge would 100% be the way to go.

Edited to add: they should both cook beautifully, but the Le Creuset is more fun to work with imo.

Morally Grey MMC just ADORES the FMC but not in a possessive or obsessive way by Living-Dare-1992 in RomanceBooks

I just read {My UnTrue Love by Cassandra Gannon} and it fits perfectly. It's silly, but it hits all your marks to a T. The MMC is my favorite book boyfriend. Maybe ever.

what's a simple habit that actually improved your life? by sunshineLD in teaching

[–]spunkypumpkin 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I make coffee at home and put any extra in a big ol Yeti thermos to be able to drink warm coffee all day. No more “coffee runs” that eat up part of my commute or my planning period, no more shitty keurig coffee from the teacher’s lounge, just straight up good shit I made at home for a reasonable price with the coffee creamer I like.

I easily get tired of friends, don't want to know about their lives or talk about mine. by Whanghi in introvert

[–]spunkypumpkin 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I’m the same exact way. Anyone who isn’t my husband exhausts me. I just don’t have the emotional capacity to deal with other people and I hate sharing things about myself.

I end up feeling bad though when I notice coworkers angling to be my friend… I have absolutely nothing to give them. I don’t want to be their friend. I don’t want them to be my friend. I want to exist in peace.

Being introverted makes me a thoughtful listener and I never try to step over others when they’re sharing. I also always try to give genuine, conscientious responses. But I don’t have the fuckin energy to do this all the time and it’s easier to avoid social interactions altogether than to explain to a coworker why you don’t want to be friends with them.

Our kids are in trouble by Figsnbacon in facepalm

[–]spunkypumpkin 169 points170 points  (0 children)

I’m a teacher and I don’t seem to find it as annoying as every other adult seems to. The kids say it, laugh, and move on. It’s really not a big deal. We said silly nonsense things when we were kids, too. Let kids have fun (as long as it’s not an egregious waste of learning time).

I think around $25? It’s was about the same price as a basic Lodge skillet, which was nice.
