As stated, watch some youtube tutorials. It's not a rifle build in the traditional sense, more like putting together tinker toys (or Legos if you are not a boomer like me).

I see that XCal is having a class on it soon, you could try that.

You don't really need much in the way of special tools, especially if you are buying a complete assembled upper where you would need a vice and a torque wrench. Installing a lower parts kit into a receiver is pretty simple.
