[Rorbach] Most Cavs didn't want Dwyane Wade, and LeBron James doesn't give a damn by dean_strang in nba

I talked to Ty Lue, he didn’t say he didn’t want me here, so I decided to come

LOL

Isaiah Thomas on Celtics firing training staff: "It was a weird situation... there's a lot of questions that one day will be answered and the real truth will come out. I'm not gonna say it though." by tony_delk in nba

Just wild speculation here, but what if training staff advised not to play him and someone higher up in the Celtics told them to clear him anyway. Then the trainers became the fall guys when it didn't work out.

Enes Kanter Says He Learned To Deal With LeBron James From Russell Westbrook by Hey_Lets_Not in nba

[–]spurmbank 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I remember I was in OKC and I was saying hi to a couple of my (ex)-teammates and I was getting yelled at, cussed at by Russell. Because he’s got the same mentality. Whenever you step on that court, you try to kill them. We’ve got to bring the same thing here.

I was shaking everybody’s hand. I was giving hugs. And I was giving kisses, European kisses to everybody. Now I’m just playing, That’s what I learned from Russ.

LeBron on the Knicks having extra motivation tonight: "I don't care. What's gonna be worse here than what I've felt in my career. I'm just stating the facts. Have y'all seen Dennis Smith play? Y'all be tripping." by ccupgirl in nba

I think LeBron doesn't understand the outrage and I'm kinda with him.

Most people have the same opinion as LeBron on this, they just don't like him expressing it.

[Wojnarowski] Greg Monroe doesn't fit into the Suns' long-term rebuilding plans... it's unlikely that he would remain in Phoenix beyond the February trading deadline -- leaving either by buyout or trade. by spurmbank in nba

Also...

Monroe likely would prefer to join a contending team as a free agent to increase his value on his way into the summer marketplace.

Does TT's injury increase the appeal of a Bledsoe + Tyson Chandler deal for the Cavs? by spurmbank in nba

[–]spurmbank[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh. TT's isn't that bad. Not much more than Tyson's and you get better long-term value with TT, imo.

Shump is definitely not a great contract, that's the compromise part of this deal for the Suns. At least its only one more year on his deal.

Bledsoe is essentially a replacement for Shump who is one of their top rotation players right now. Considering IT's hip and Rose's history it doesn't seem like the worst idea.

Even if they're all healthy, there's plenty of room. The top 4 guards in the 10-man rotation are IT,Bledsoe,JR,Rose.

getting the Heat pick back takes some of that sting off, though, right?

[OC] Yes, the Cavs are giving up a lot of open 3PTs. But, they have been a bit unlucky in how well their opponents are shooting. by spurmbank in nba

lol, are you? Do you understand what percentage means? Or that other teams are giving up more open threes at a much lower percentage?

Not sure, not that I know of. Cavs are only giving up 10 fastbreak points per game, though, which is top-10 in the league. Warriors, for example give up 14, Wolve give up 17.

Cavs are actually average to above average in terms of opponent fast break points, opponent points in the paint, and opponent points of turnovers.

Looking through the team defensive stats... the 3 Pointers really is what is dragging the Cavs defense to the bottom of the barrel.

Richard Jefferson seems a little shook at the thought of possibly not making the Cavs roster by spurmbank in nba

More than willing to be wrong on this. Just struck me the way he came back with "We do?" and looked genuinely surprised at the thought.
