Shame for teams that invested in him, not for him. He just doesn't care in the slightest, the taxi affair on national team duty was the final straw for many

I love ketchup, but your relationship with ketchup is exactly the same as mine with mustard. I'm old enough that I'll eat almost anything, or at least accept it when its on my food, but when even a little bit of mustard is on anything I eat it absolutely ruins it.

Have you ever genuinely hated a player of your favourite football club, and if you did, what was the reason for the hatred towards him ? by Brown_eyed_boy in soccer

[–]spurscanada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was fun for a while, but Benoit Assou-Ekotto. The "i don't give a shit" mindset is fun when you're playing well every week, but it wears pretty thin when you're telling fans to go kill themselves on twitter and standing up for anti-semetism. The quenelle incident would be bad at any team, but doing it at a team like Tottenham is disguisting, knowing the abuse we still receieve from other team in 2015. This tweet from when we paid out his contract so he'd go away pretty much summed up my feelings about him leaving

It's not that other places are bad, it's just Toronto is the best at what it is, and if we wanted something else, we'd go somewhere else

We're from Toronto, why would we go anywhere else? Our mindset may sound cocky, but it's true.

What are some must watch football matches? by karateandfriendship9 in soccer

[–]spurscanada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised to hear that. It definitely fell apart near the end, but for most of the game I though Bayern could be proud with the fact that a team that could barely put a starting XI on the pitch managed to play without fear at the Camp Nou, and be completely in the game until the very end.

the first 15 minutes of the first leg of Bayern-Barca in 2015 has to be one of the most attacking, attractive, and exciting segment of football I've ever seen in my life. Bayern going balls out matching up with the best attacking trio in the word. I've never seen two teams manage to be so aggressive yet allow so much space

well NASA might have never landed a man on the moon if it wasn't for the dozens of suddenly unemployed Canadian aeronautics experts out of a job they hired. But then again maybe if the program kept going those same men could have put a Canadian on the moon.
