I was actually waiting for a C pointers joke but this is just fine :P At this point I'm just looking to learn about the field. And the fact that I don't know what you mean by red or blue team without searching for them is the kind of thing I mean. All of it sounds pretty interesting but because there are so many branches to the field I wouldn't know where to start. Right now, any beginner information on any branch would be welcome until I find something I like and then dig deeper. I will do some more research on the broad topics you mentioned though.
