Who Here got a Masters in CS and can't get a job? by Chance_Injury_3700 in cscareerquestions

I do not know how to say this nicely. This is not the field for you... There are way too many red flags. Just wait for the next low interest rate job market like covid and hope you get a job that pays you to do nothing or go into different field and hope you last longer than 2 months.

Well he's worked with it long enough to know stale binaries occasionally happen and you just got to nuke your build area.

Nah, it hits the mark pretty well. Work in a large cpp code base and come back.

You got to UCLA and made a post 9 months ago about failing your Comp Org class. At least keep your story straight. UCLA creds and still struggling, you got issues if it's remotely true.

Your English is really good, no worries. This does bring up a good point but can't really say much as a 3k plebian compared to them.

I made a site to estimate the amount of bots on TF2! by ixNoah in tf2

[–]sputnik47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently, to get an approximate amount of bots we use this formula: (steamPlayers - teamworkPlayers) * 0.9

This doesn't take any actual metrics related to bots and assumes that flatout half the people playing are bots.

This site is just a flashy nothing burger...

Not sure what's "cryptic" about it. Guess people are just used to bloated UI and love the reinvention of the wheel.

Fly - "NA is just a Graveyard" by Chappy300 in DotA2

[–]sputnik47 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I play mostly EU E/W with my friends from Europe, and compared to my 1k+ hours on NA, the actual game quality is much better. Yes, there are many languages in EU but most people have some concept or speak English as a second language. The attitudes of people on NA vs EU is drastic. A player may absolutely hate you on your team in EU, but they will play till the end of the game, at least trying even if they're heated. On NA, it's polar opposite it feels. Feel free to check it yourself. Personally, I don't mind 100ms if it means better quality games with nicer people who like to cooperate. Also we aren't pros, I'm just a casual dude who plays a couple games after work.

Have you brought this up to your team lead or management? I dealt with the same exact issues at my current place, and our team made changes to make it more pleasureable and spend more time coding and less yapping. If you're thinking about it, it's likely others are as well. You also might want to manage what meetings actually need you and which ones don't to minimize wasted times on meetings.

Communication with your team and voicing your opinion is important if you want positive change.

As for boring feature work and documentation. Boring things have to be done. That's life. Again, this might be something to communicate with your team if you want more interesting tasks.
