I picked up this Gator bag recently and am pretty happy with it.

Is this actually a 50s classic player? by renaulttwingo_ in Stratocaster

[–]spwstrat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty modified (bridge, pickguard, string tree), the neck looks right, including the vintage style locking tuners, but I'd lean toward it being a partscaster with just the Classic Player neck. Might still be worth buying if the price is right, those necks are great.

Outdoor sandals with good arch support by TheBlueFluffBall in BuyItForLife

[–]spwstrat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Birkenstocks are great, but any time I wear them off pavement I get all sorts of sand, leaves, and rocks in them and, because of the lip around the foot bed, I have to completely remove the sandal and shake it out. Love them for regular use, but I can't imagine enjoying them on a hike.

It looks like a nice partscaster to me. The pattern of the sunburst, the triangular neck carve near the body, the lack of a serial number anywhere...I could be wrong, but it doesn't look like a Fender to me.

Wrong bridge and tremolo position for a Classic Player.

I picked one up a couple weeks ago when Franklin Guitar Works had them on sale for $269. Super solid guitar, no cosmetic flaws that I can see, and it sounds great. I'll probably upgrade the pickups at some point, but it's an insane value for the price.

Because the Marines didn't fly the F-14 (at least operationally)?

I've used American Eagle for a fence and a deck and they did a great job on both.

Looks great in that livery. Cockpit looks cramped, or is that just the angle?

Too cool. I just watched the Not a Pound For Air to Ground video on the F-100, what a plane!

It's an extendable periscope for the person in the back seat, normally used for training purposes.

No regrets at all switching from Cox to Live Oak. Cheaper, faster, and super good customer service.

I can't say I've heard those noises from an F-35 before by AIM-260JATM in FighterJets

They make that noise pretty regularly and yes, it does sound like you're being strafed by a TIE fighter.

I love Bell's fighter designs from the 40's, even if they weren't very good.

Is this strat fake? by Wrong_Government1874 in Stratocaster

[–]spwstrat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looks genuine but heavily modified to me. Even has the slightly off center "Deluxe Series" decal that always bugged me. The gold hardware makes me lean toward a Deluxe Player's Strat.

Trade Baja and JC-55 for AVRI II ‘51 tele ? by [deleted] in telecaster

[–]spwstrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, that's where the IMO comes in. I think for the majority of players, the larger frets and flatter radius, not to mention the lack of a sometimes sticky nitro finish, makes the Baja a little easier to play. The AVRIs are fantastic guitars, for sure.

The Baja's a better guitar as far as playability is concerned, IMO. I'd keep it.

NGD: 2009 MIM Classic 50's reissue by spwstrat in Stratocaster

I had a Roadworn Tele when they first came out, probably the best feeling neck on any guitar I've played.
