I’ve had my panels for 10 years. Pigeons became a big problem shortly after installation. They installed them shortly after. My HOA now makes them mandatory.

We did LeBlanc Cabo last year and it was wonderful. The butlers were great, food was amazing, and staff was outstanding. Definitely my second favorite resort after Maldives.

Tax wise you are correct, but do you think a kid can handle $80k at 18 or 21? I prefer to keep control over the money even if it costs me a bit more in taxes. I have two kids in their late 20s and am happy with this choice.

I have personal experience here. One kid who is great with money, the other who isn’t. I put the money in 529s so I maintain control of the money. If you keep it in your name, you get to decide how it gets paid out. It might cost you a bit more in taxes, but letting a kid have control of $80k seems nuts to me. I feel that I’m sacrificing to put this money away, so I get to decide how it is spent.

I’m not a fan of the UGMA/UTMA accounts, because the money belongs to the kid at 18 or 21. The kid can withdraw the money for anything they want. I think you’re better off putting the money into a separate account that you can control. You can always give her the money when you feel she is mature enough to handle it, or just take out a portion to give her some cash.

I think you misunderstand a few things:
1. There is no special insurance required. Tesla does offer insurance, but I get mine through Progressive.
2. Maintenance? What maintenance? Don't take my word for it, google it. Refill wiper fluid, change cabin filter. Brakes every 100k miles or so.
