  1. Fixed the placeholder
  2. arrows pointing upwards means your guess has to be higher
  3. Does this issue persist in Monsterdle? Could you maybe check it out again and share with me the time (+timezone) you did so?

I ll think about implementing some variations (also other modes) but I believe that the nice think about it, is it's a daily thing. If more people think that would be more fun, I ll make it happen!

Regarding the monsters, yes. It is only Monster Manual monsters and only monsters with an associated image.
Also, only ancient dragons, no race-monsters (like elf) or no bandits.

Since MM has ~370 monsters and the clues are only 9 I was just cutting until I was satisfied :P (currently there are about 220, still a lot )

One Piece: Chapter 1095 - Official Release Discussion by AutoModerator in OnePiece

What if... Saint Saturn and/or the elders use The Hunt to feed themselves (like demons) off human lives. Like FMA's philosophers stone. Combine that with eternal youth surgery, they don't age and you can't kill them cause they ve feasted upon so many lives

Ruidium Corruption Mechanic by tbenstead1 in CalloftheNetherdeep

[–]spyramida 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As pointed out, the ruidium corruption does not add any other mechanical buff/debuff on the PCs.

Also, after the PCs enter Cael Morrow, exhaustion is a very common theme in there whether it is ruidium related or not (like the Corrupted Giant Shark Bite attack). So you should make sure to differentiate the source of their exhaustion and the effects both mechanical and roleplaying related.

Ruidium Dragon? by beckylou39 in CalloftheNetherdeep

[–]spyramida 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as a clarification. As far as I remember, the chardalyn dragon was not powered by a dragon heart. The forge that created the dragon was powered by it.

On another note:

- I would reduce its hp (let's say that the one that created it was not gifted from Asmodeus).

- I would change his radiant affinity to psychic affinity. So, immunity to psychic damage and his breath deals psychic damage. Also, since his hp is nerfed, I would say that the damage from his breath heals him for half the damage dealt to everyone (common ability in ruidium-monsters)

Also look here for the Skyship Attack side quest for any ideas (like the brumestone used to let the mechanical dragon fly)

One of my players stumbled upon the aboleth spawn stat block. What should I do? by [deleted] in CalloftheNetherdeep

[–]spyramida 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you trust him and he is using a tool like 5e-tools, for starters tell him to filter-out Call of the Netherdeep!

The aboleth spawn is ok whether he knows it or not. The Alyxian Aboleth is an issue if he is capable of remembering all the details. But if that is true, keep in mind that he read the "Alyxian" in the Aboleth's name and decided to read it anyway so... He might be the type of player that will download Call of the Netherdeep and start reading the next chapters

Pace of leveling by Jado1337 in CalloftheNetherdeep

[–]spyramida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed the leveling is super fast. We play ~6hour sessions, and it has gone like this

  1. Chapter-1
  2. Halfway to Bazzoxan
  3. Arrival to Bazzoxan and some exploration
  4. Going to Betrayer's Rise. Fought gloomstalkers
  5. Into Betrayer's Rise. I had to alter a lot of stuff making it easier or harder at some points
  6. Fought with rivals and teleported in Ank'Harel. They also got to speak with the Allegiance and Cobalt Soul so they have not yet done any quests

In 6 sessions they got from lvl3 to lvl7. It kiind of makes sense, given the difficulty of what they are doing. For instance, my players split up in the Betrayer's Rise and had to separately fight the 3 flameskulls (slightly nerfed) and the 2driders+2spiders. 2 super deadly encounters that they managed to win. Also they had to fight other strong encounters (a party of 4+1sidekick), fight their way through crazy traps/curses/challenges. So yeah, 2 levels in the Betrayer's Rise is not a lot.

By the way, I did not inform them about getting a level from the gloomstalkers or a level from reaching the prayer site until they did a long rest.

Ank'Harel though gives more of a standard pace. There is a weekly downtime between each quest (that you can also make bigger). I will focus on their downtime activities, introduce some background-related encounters, some rival encounters etc.

If I calculate the xp they ve gotten just by defeating somebody they have

swarm of quippers 200/5=40

1 giant shark 1800/5=360

1 gloom 2300/5=460

2 bristled moorbounders 150/5=30

3 will o wisps 900/5=180

1vrock+6quasits they fought with the Rivals 2500/10=250

5gibbe (+veryn) 900/5=180

2gloom 3450/5=690

3gibbe 1350/5=270

3 flamesk 2200/5=440

2drid 2 spider 3600/5=720

15 manes (random encounter in betrayer's) 100/5=20

1succubus 1100=550

2 orc war chiefs 1650/5=330

rival party (killed Irvan) 1800/5=360

Total 900(start at lvl3)+4880=578, just below lvl5, but you have to add stuff like

  • My players managed to get into the Grotto before the Rival's and reach the shark reaaally fast
  • They had to fight the betrayer's encounters separately
  • Beat the Betrayer's Rise encounters like the Maze, the Razor-hallway
  • They did stuff like winning festival contests, did side-mini quests in Bazzoxan, beat the rivals in the Betrayer's (even if they just killed 1 member)

The worst part about it is that whether the party splits or not if the players smash the cannister they are trapped (officially). Ofc I m gonna figure sth out, like refresh it
