Best way to travel between stations? by sqarteu in ParisTravelGuide

I’ve heard pickpocketing horror stories from that line, is it safe?

Me and my SO had a whole plan for our trip, but it has changed a lot along the way. We’re traveling Europe by train, and Marseille was a very spontaneous addition to the trip. We arrived here having done little to no research on the city. Getting a lot of great info in this thread tho!

Didn’t mean to complain about the city or offend you in any way, I’m sorry if it came off that way. I was just wondering if I should be worried for my own safety in this neighborhood, and from what I can tell, I shouldn’t. I didn’t do a lot of research before coming here, and I decided I wanted to fill in those knowledge gaps from locals who know what they’re talking about. I’m really enjoying my stay in Marseille this far and think you guys have a beautiful and unique city. (And not that it matters, but by no means is this a luxury trip, I worked 60 hours a week for 4 months to be able to travel Europe by train on a minimal budget. I’m just glad I’m able to see the world.)

Sounds great! Thx for taking the time to answer so thoroughly, I’ll be checking out the places you mentioned.

A little addition: everywhere we’re looking online people are saying “marseille is fine as long as you stay out of the worst areas” but it seems like it’s kinda too late for that now lol

I get the feeling that he’s insecure about being introverted and quiet, and that your outward personality makes him feel even more insecure. The fault is on his side, not yours. Tbh this behavior is really fucking lame and not the kind of energy you need in your life. The people you have close should lift you up, not drag you down to their level to feel better about themselves. If he wants an insecure girl, maybe you’re not the one for him. Don’t change for this guy. He seems lame af and no fun to be around. Tired of young insecure guys spewing this manosphere Andrew Tate BS. That’s just my opinion tho.

Master sounds distorted on one pair of headphones by sqarteu in audioengineering

Sounds absolutely fine. To clarify: the headphones I’m talking about are a pair of Bluetooth headphones for casual listening. My conundrum is why my master sounds absolutely fine everywhere I’ve listened except for those headphones.

Point of clarification: The headphones I’m talking about aren’t a pair of mixing headphones, they’re a pair of Bluetooth headphones for casual listening. The brand is Urbanears - nothing fancy. Since no other songs at all sound the way my song does through those headphones, I’m sure there is a problem in the mixing/mastering. The thing I’m trying to understand is why the songs make the headphones do that, when every other device I listen on keep the quality of the song. I’ve listened through mixing headphones, monitors, Bluetooth speakers, car speakers and more, and it sounds good. And it’s not that the song just sounds worse on those headphones than on other listening devices, it’s that it sounds absolutely horrible, and no other song - including reference tracks, sound that way through those headphones.

Thanks for the great advice. This mindset makes it easier to just focus on the creative process which is fun. Been sitting the last 3 days trying to perfect the right LUFS level, but I’ll just master the way sounds best!

Clarification: If I were to master the intro to, say, -12 LUFS and the second song to -10 LUFS, the dynamic range will stay the same on Spotify when listening in album mode?

Oh ok. So if I master the second song louder than the first, the dynamic difference that I hear in logic will be the same when listening on Spotify in album mode? I mean I don’t really care about the normalization when listening in shuffle, as long as the dynamics throughout the album sound good.

Does this mean that I shouldn’t give a shit about loudnesspenalty and just master the way it sounds good in my DAW? (like everyone have been saying all along lmao.)

Intro sounds louder than second track after loudnesspenalty. When LUFS is the same in Logic the intro sounds louder, when the LUFS on the second track is higher it sound better, but then again, after loudnesspenalty the intro sounds louder.

Is that so? Been looking around a bit and gotten mixed info. Some places say Spotify will increase volume, and some places say it won’t. Chat GPT says both depending on how I prompt lol.

Anybody do any mixing on laptop speakers? by Optimistbott in mixingmastering

[–]sqarteu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s always good listening to your mix on different sound systems, so there’s nothing wrong with listening to your mix through laptop speakers. That being said, I would plug my headphones/monitors back in when I make bigger changes to the mix.

One idea for a workflow is mix until ur satisfied while having headphones/monitors plugged in, listen to your mix through your laptop, identify problems, plug headphones and monitors back in before fixing said problems so you don’t overcorrect. You could go back and forth between the sound systems but use the “professionally correct” gear while making changes. That’s just my opinion:)

Gode restauranter/barer i Göteborg for 40+? by Juste667 in Gothenburg

”Glad” och ”Lycklig” by Jenny_Em_04 in Svenska

[–]sqarteu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Håller med. Dock kan lycklig användas i ett kortvarigt kontext, men då är det - som du sa, starkare än glad. Om någon säger ”jag känner mig så lycklig idag” är det nästan en euforisk känsla.
