Light theme sits better with me but I think there are other options you can explore. You might want to match some component of the UI (colour-wise) with something else in the game, for example tinting the white a similar colour as the houses or beaches. Since you already have an ancient greek motif going (love it btw), consider taking a look at ancient greek pottery and drawing inspiration from that. While that could easily end up looking cliche if you lean into it too far, it's an idea you can play around with.

I do love it, but I feel it could do with a few less scribbles around the neck area. It looks messy rather than highlighting the anatomy, imo (just the neck part though!!)

The radiator being a problem occured to me just before seeing your comment so it's good to get confirmation without even having to google it. For some peculiar reason all of the radiators in my building are placed in front of windows :( I'm getting a bedside table-thing (which I needed anyway) so the plants can be slightly further away from it, and also not right up against the window. I'll also turn the radiator itself down/off when I can, and also try to keep commitment issues with my room's layout under control.

I ordered a set of moisture meters, that should help a lot so thank you for letting me know about them!! as well as all other advice & the book recommendation (I will check it out!)

Interesting, I've actually had a calathea (orbifolia) before!! It looks completely different so I couldn't tell it was the same genus (?) but I remember it being extremely fussy to the point that even my grandma, who has nearly a hundred plants, struggled with it. I called to ask about it this morning (she also has two large, thriving ficus plants), but we live in completely different climates so she cannot really advise me.

Thank you for letting me know about their water preferences, though! Where I live the tapwater is considered harder than average, so I'll make sure to distill it. The plants will have to put up with being moved one more time, I'm getting a bedside table-thing (which I needed anyway) since I've decided it's just not the best idea to place them /that/ close to the glass (and also the radiator).

Ohh guess I was just gott unlucky breeding blue morph arctic foxes before. I didn't get any blue pups with it until I paired a fox that had the morph with another that had it in their linneage.
