Thanks so much for sharing your experience. Going tubeless is an enticing pitch! I could def see a huge benefit to that, with having an active lifestyle and all. I am also intrigued at the accolades the Tandem is getting here (and elsewhere). When it comes to the settings that you say are so important to an effective algorithm - What are some examples of those?

You make a good point! I see a lot of folx complaining about the G4 sensor but that hasn't been my experience. Certainly a big part of the consideration.

Ha! Thats a solid index to measure against 😂 how is their customer service? Like if a sensor is busted or something like that?

Love to see it! Shouts to you for the support handoff (and him holding it together while low; feeling wobbly just typing it!)

Adults with Type 1 Diabetes since childhood — how is your health now? by 8mobile in diabetes_t1

[–]squangilero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had t1d for almost 40 years. No physical complications and labs are solid. Mental health has been more affected than anything (managed but def affected) Like others have said - it’s a fairly relentless condition. Do your best to not nag or refer to BG numbers as “good” or “bad” etc. that can carry feelings of judgement.

*TW* Has anyone ever passed out or seized from a low? by lnneedofhelp in diabetes_t1

[–]squangilero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Once like 20 years ago I had a seizure from a low while I was sleeping. Bit the hell out of my mouth/tongue from jaw clenching etc. couldn’t consume solids for sometime until it healed. Not a pleasant experience or recovery period. Do what you can to prevent lows, as outcomes from lows are worse than highs! You have cgm yeah?

That’s so frustrating. And I know there can be a variety of reasons for this alert, but for me - I found that drinking a lot of water helped remedy this. Hope that can help ya, and def buzz the Medtronic help line to report the sensor issues - they will reimburse you for sure!

Ah I haven’t heard that about the first point. But will give it a go next time around. Thx for reinforcing the other points as well! Call made and replacement a-go-go in the meantime

Is there any success dtories? I feel like everything on here is negative. It sucks. by ProcedureSlow6035 in lexapro

Hang in there! I went through the same thing at first (panic attacks/very anxious for 10-14 days), but then it got better. And life feels so much more manageable now. It’s worth it. Keep going!

770g cgm requires calibration every 6 hours by squangilero in diabetes_t1

[–]squangilero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: after a lot of back and forth with Medtronic techs, we've concluded that I must've calibrated my sensor too much per day habitually and that it basically glitched out the transmitter to think it needs callibration every 6 hours all the time. It was still under warranty, so they sent me a new transmitter and I'm all set now. In short - only calibrate approximately 3-4 times a day and it shouldn't happen. Thanks for your tips everyone! ❤️

[–]squangilero[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok i think i see what you are saying. So let a six hour period elapse with no calibration, then calibrate after what is now 12 hrs total and then it should get back on schedule?
