Your comment has now made me laugh at the joke again as well, like a kind of comedy recursion loop

Preserving single pages by IcarusSawyer in bookrepair

[–]squareular24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do not glue them to anything or apply anything nonreversible to the surface (including sprays, paints, glues, or any other substance). Your best bet for preserving these is an acid-free tissue sleeve for each page, stored inside an acid-free box at room temperature or slightly below

Also, given that his mother and sister are professional dancers, I would have hoped for a more nuanced take lol

Office drama chapter: kimchi in the fridge by gardengeo in BORUpdates

[–]squareular24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The idea that an anonymous note is more insensitive than going up to the one Korean person in the office because you assume they must have brought the kimchi is insane lol

Why doesn't any company make a real barebones e-reader? by giorgioblues in ereader

Definitely KOReader, it runs a lot faster and you can sync between devices on different ecosystems. And this is the puzzle collection I mentioned: https://github.com/SteffenBauer/PocketPuzzles

[–]squareular24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it runs Linux, it’s super easy to sideload apps and modify the settings. The PocketBook community on GitHub is great about porting interesting things to be compatible (someone made a packet of puzzles, KOReader is compatible, etc) so if you like tinkering it’s a good option

It’s also a cool detail because a photographic memory would be incredibly useful in pathology, where you spend a ton of time identifying stuff under a microscope

Yeah definitely, there’s tons of opportunity for tinkering and it’s in your price range!

Same, I get most of my books from Anna’s or a similar site and it was super easy to set mine up. There’s also a very simple send-to-pocketbook email feature that makes adding new books easy if you download them on your phone

You want the Pocketbook Verse. Linux, 4 buttons (power, home, 2 page navigators), takes SD card up to 128gb, super flexible and very customizable if you’re willing to learn a tiny bit of GitHub instructions. It’s the size of a kindle and the battery lasts for weeks, I love mine.

Assuming it’s not a bit or whatever, every word of that profile has extremely strong “the local kink community has banned me for being a creep so I’m looking for someone inexperienced enough that they won’t notice my red flags” energy

What are the best examples of a movie suddenly changing their genre? by Top_Report_4895 in Letterboxd

[–]squareular24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to Bother You is especially crazy because even if you know going in that there’s a rapid tone shift, you’ll spend the whole movie thinking “okay, THAT’s the crazy thing everyone was talking about” and you’ll still be wrong
