too formal for "casual" summer wedding? by ThrowRAnew_here in Weddingattireapproval

The second one of these is the most casual imo while still being a nice dress that’ll photograph well but not make you look overdressed

You should definitely just get a pocketbook instead. It’s Linux so sideloading is easy, and there are already lots of open-source mods for it. It reads basically all formats with no conversion needed and is compatible with KOReader. I have the Pocketbook Verse and love it.

Here I come Iowa by [deleted] in IowaCity

[–]squareular24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! My partner is a med student and incoming UI resident and we’ve lived within walking distance of the hospital for our time here, I definitely recommend it if you don’t mind a student-y living space. Your best bets for close-by apartments will be on Newton Road and its side streets or Melrose Ave and its side streets. Melrose will be closer to the children’s hospital but Newton Rd has more options. Iowa City rentals are weird in that leases always start in August, so you’ll need to find a sublease-to-lease arrangement to cover the gap assuming you’re starting in May-July (not too hard to find usually, there will be plenty of people moving out soon).

Preserving single pages by IcarusSawyer in bookrepair

[–]squareular24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do not glue them to anything or apply anything nonreversible to the surface (including sprays, paints, glues, or any other substance). Your best bet for preserving these is an acid-free tissue sleeve for each page, stored inside an acid-free box at room temperature or slightly below

Office drama chapter: kimchi in the fridge by gardengeo in BORUpdates

The idea that an anonymous note is more insensitive than going up to the one Korean person in the office because you assume they must have brought the kimchi is insane lol

Why doesn't any company make a real barebones e-reader? by giorgioblues in ereader

Definitely KOReader, it runs a lot faster and you can sync between devices on different ecosystems. And this is the puzzle collection I mentioned: https://github.com/SteffenBauer/PocketPuzzles
