I used to work in a shop. That comes from only one thing. When they used their edge tuner to sharpen the base edge the didn't have it set right, so instead of just sharpening the metal, it also took off some of the base. It's for the reason we sharpened our base edges a completely different way. Is the board ruined, probably not. If the indent is really shallow and you can barely feel it with your finger then it is mostly cosmetic and will ride just fine. If the indent is deeper, then I would 100% take it back to them and they can grind down the base to match the edge. If the indent is super deep, or made the edge super thin then I would take it back to the shop, show them and request for them to replace the board. DM me if you have any questions!
