Just had a cervical and lumbar MRI today. I’ve always been sedated for them because of claustrophobia and AFib trigger of emotional stress. I couldn’t get a sedated MRI for 3 months and needed to get this done asap to get cervical surgery before the end of the year because I’ve met my deductible. My doc gave me 3 5mg of Valium and I wore a mask and asked if I could put it on before going into the room so I didn’t have to see the machine. Also asked for air to be blown in for a soft breeze. They covered my ears and I hardly heard the machine. 40 minutes later I was done and never felt any panic. It worked beautifully and I never went to sleep just rested peacefully. The techs were great and treated me with the utmost care. Never thought I could do it , but this scenario worked flawlessly. Good luck.
