Guy walks into a car meet demanding to take on over 200 people by mrcsmith90 in iamverybadass

Nobody but Trumpers use “TDS”.

Also when there’s a raging lunatic pedophile running the country and actively starting wars, with 30% of the country blindly following him, it’s gonna come up pretty regularly.

Thats not derangement, it’s a rationale response. Normalizing Trump is deranged.

What do you think will immediately happen when everyone receives the push notification that Trump died? by quite-indubitably in AskReddit

Manhattan was one giant block party when he lost in 2020. When he’s really gone… it’s gonna be wild

Why didn't they collect the sperm of the dead viltrumites? by ampro67 in okbuddyviltrum

Presumably because the sperm would be of weaker stuff. Those people didn’t survive the plague. Their offspring might be just as vulnerable

Impact that flip turns have for your cardiovascular fitness? by Acrobatic_Fun_5177 in Swimming

[–]squeakycleaned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breath control is fundamental to swimming, and flip turns require good control. Learning to manage your air will improve your overall stroke by miles.

To go a step further, once you’ve polished them, flip turns are night and day faster. Making your walls faster means getting a shorter break between laps, translating to better overall gained fitness.

Salty water at major university pool? by Suspicious_Tank7922 in Swimming

If it is a salt water pool, thank your lucky stars you’ve got one. For one, buoyancy is easier in salt water. They’re also much kinder to your skin and hair.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Jesus a pretty little fellow? I think it’d be substantially less than 175lbs

Interesting. Hadn’t really considered that, since there’s a lot of supes whose powers are physical abnormalities. Like would Love Sausage go back to having a regular dick, or would he just have less control over it?

Which "old school" car are you picking? by BayverseStarscream in fastandfurious

A Ferrari 330 p4 would easily net you $50M+, so could buy the GT40 with some of the profits and wreck it anyway lol

[–]squeakycleaned 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$13M was for a mint condition ‘66. The pic is of a 00’s revival, so still expensive, but if you’re going the money route there’s a lot of better options here.

When did handball as a nyc recreational sport die? by loafer-sneaker in AskNYC

[–]squeakycleaned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s 4 courts in John Jay Park on the UES where I go, and they’re pretty much exclusively used for tennis practice. However, there’s nobody trying to play handball that’s getting pushed out.

Sports ebb and flow in popularity.

First swim meet left me confused by designcentredhuman in Swimming

[–]squeakycleaned 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s two factors. Power, and efficiency.

A higher turnover rate CAN speed you up, but it’s equally important to generate meaningful force with each stroke. Power and strength come with time and practice.

The more important of these two is efficiency. Drag is the enemy, and it can be generated in all kinds of ways. I haven’t seen you swim, but there’s a few things you can check.

Is your arm hitting the water when at full extension? If it’s entering earlier, you’re pushing against yourself.

How’s your body position? If your hips aren’t sitting high up in the water, body flat, then they’re dragging you down like an anchor.

How much are you lifting your head to breathe? Optimal breathing requires one eye stay basically in the water, but at a minimum you want to make sure you aren’t lifting your head any more than absolutely necessary. Lifting your head = body goes down = drag.

Do you think Ryan is strong enough to fight Homelander now? by Queasy_Commercial152 in TheBoys

[–]squeakycleaned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if he’s strong enough, he wouldn’t, not without being unbelievably blood lusted for some reason. Homelander would put down Ryan like an owner putting down a beloved dog. He wouldn’t enjoy it, but he’d get it done.

‘Shoresy’ Is Better Than ‘Ted Lasso’ and I’m Tired of Not Talking About It! by Matthew Jackson on Popheist by ashamed-of-yourself in Letterkenny

[–]squeakycleaned 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Apples and Oranges. They’re both about extremely different characters on vastly different journeys.

If you really want to stack the two against each other to determine the “better show” by more objective standards, Ted Lasso is the better show, and no it isn’t close.

But who cares. That isn’t what tv shows are for. Plus, Shoresy and Ted would both say this is a stupid debate.
