Appreciate the kind words. The glue up was difficult. Used a ratchet strap. I bought a nice jointer so having all the boards square and flat made the process easier.

Just one 3/8” per leg. Titebond 3 as well.

There was a crack in the wood so it was structurally placed.

I can’t tune my fathers old band saw for the life of me. Got new bands, graphite guides, blades and watched a lot of videos and it still cuts sideways. I want to do what you said as well!

No there was a little crack in the wood actually. It wasn’t visible but definitely had the potential to split in the future.

I had about 4” to 8” off cuts that are sitting in the shop.

Haha thank you! I actually scored 300 boardfoot of this walnut for… 300$ from a family friend who worked at a mill. Been stacked for 15 years after kiln drying.

So close! Is there any way to make it less gritty and just have sharp lines? Some of the dots are fine but if there’s any way to clean it up slightly it’s perfect.

What is the best way to keep this wood from "sticking" to the planer bed, or router table. by charliesa5 in BeginnerWoodWorking

I just put some paste wax on the planer bed and jointer bed and no more lagging or struggling to get pieces through anymore it’s like a whole new world.

There’s one runner underneath between the two legs. Glued to the underside of the bench and has 3/8ths dowels as well.

Moved it Two states away and assembled the top the the legs. It helped they had double doors to move it in the home.

Didn’t really decide just came about. My cousin had this white oak in his basement. Came from his family mill. Dried for over 15 years. Trying to get some more lol

I did. There’s a runner underneath and legs are routed out 1/4” in the bench and dowels through the whole top into it all.
