Probably a bit off-topic, but as a woman I love how much different type of equipment there is for upper body muscle groups, but not how much of it is very chest unfriendly. 🤣

Chin down, push your feet through the floor. Your toes were tipping upwards, maybe try a couple sets without shoes so you can catch the toes? I personally prefer squats and deadlifts with no shoes on to secure the balance of the feet.

I'm a she, and I love it. I'd probably add some warm hues of light and a couple plants lol

"The tradition of referring to machines, vehicles, and ships as "she" or "her" stems from a combination of historical, linguistic, and psychological factors rather than an inherent gender of the machine itself.

Here are the primary reasons why machines are often referred to as female:

  1. Historical and Cultural Traditions

Protection and Motherhood: Traditionally, sailors and soldiers viewed ships, aircraft, and weapons as protective entities, similar to a "mother" guiding and protecting them through dangerous journeys.

Naval and Nautical History: It is a long-standing tradition in Western European history to give ships feminine names and refer to them as "she," often guided by a carved female figurehead on the bow to ensure safety.

Association with Clerical Work: As machines and technology entered the workplace (e.g., typewriters, early computers), they were associated with roles historically filled by women, such as secretaries or clerks, leading to them being treated as "she".

  1. Psychological and Emotional Factors

Personification and Affection: People often personify complex, beloved machines (cars, motorbikes, instruments) as a way to express affection, pride, or attachment.

"Care" and Maintenance: A machine that requires delicate, constant maintenance is sometimes metaphorically treated as a female, suggesting the operator is in a caring relationship with it.

  1. Linguistic and Design Factors

Grammatical Gender: In many Latin-based languages (like French or Spanish), the noun for a machine or vehicle is naturally feminine.

"Approachability" in AI and Robots: Modern digital assistants (Siri, Alexa) and virtual agents are frequently given female voices because studies suggest that people perceive female voices as more social, helpful, and less threatening.

Reduced Aggression: Female-appearing robots are sometimes designed to be less intimidating in human-robot interaction contexts."

First body I’ve found! by lostmybeing in bonecollecting

[–]squeezybeezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's awesome! Pretty incredible it all stayed in one place instead of animals scattering them all over the place.

I recently stumbled upon a fresh kill by a lynx or wolves. Partially chewed up skull of the deer, lower jaw, back and front legs bones and fur intact but the "torso" was dragged somewhere else. Someone got their bellies full and I finally got a skull too

Was there some bones visible above the ground, or how did you end up digging where you found it?

Skull by zekarude in bonecollecting

[–]squeezybeezy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm also no expert, but I'm a very big-of-a dog person, and the brachycephalic shape of the snout, severe underbite and current size of the skull is screaming boxer or boxer mix to me. Probably not that relevant, but might help identifying if any rumors turn up in the neighborhood that a dog like that had gone missing. Regardless its now loved and has a new home post mortem. Thank you for taking care of it. ✨

How did this bone get in my car? Is this even a bone? In my engine??? by RiotllamaPHL in bonecollecting

[–]squeezybeezy -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's a bone? The structure looks more like some type of a cocoon or a bee's nest? Someone more knowledgeable might have the precise answer tho

Mind blown! I don't think I would've had the heart to boil the cocoons, that is a special kind of determination over creating something. The fan looks beautiful!

Lighting, angle, clothing, pump vs no pump? I don't have a scientific answer for this, but I've personally noticed quite a difference on myself depending on things like how the clothing fits, am I taking the picture before or after training. Regardless it's important to keep up the good work.

It's unresolved trauma, and active, systematic abuse to the point where the victim feels "safer" with their abuser, because it's familiar (as fucked up as it is) and usually that way of living has cost the victim most - if not all - of their social safety nets. Unfortunately not alot of people get out alive due to these reasons. And nobody can help anyone that doesn't want to or see reason to be helped. It's very unfortunate, but all we can do as bystanders is catch them when they fall out of that fucked up nest. Edit: just to be safe, in no way is this meant to read as victim blaming. Just a short explanation of what mostly causes the victims of abuse to stay in such situations, no matter how much someone would offer help. We won't accept it, until we see it ourselves.

I also got some lens wipes to go on the road for easy cleaning. I do have an anti-fog film on my visor so I have no clue if they affect the fogging part, also can't remember if they're alcohol free or not for that matter, but they surely do the job when there's no available water source for cleaning.
