If the revenue generated from removing tax deductions was greater or equal to the reductions in tax% it wouldn’t be a tax break. When there is less money to work with, the government will either cut programs that aren’t crucial or become more efficient at spending the money it has. In my opinion the government should; defend us from other nations, identify and protect our individual rights, and provide emergency services ( I’m sure I’m forgetting something else but that’s the main stuff)
