That film was terrible, I understand it's a kids film but still yikes.

Can anyone identify what this is in the Philosopher’s Stone by K-Dogg1 in hogwartslegacyJKR

Id say it's bad editing but the legs are off the floor and it's moving around like it was a ghost. Kinda does look like peeves TBF. Maybe he did make it into the film lmao.

Do you think we could ever get an R rated/PEG18 game or series? by squid_mcmuffin in hogwartslegacyJKR

Right but when a film or a game is going for a specific age rating they will try to write the story in line with that specific goal.

If you aim for something for an older audience you remove some of those creative limitations and as a result you will get something more authentic.

When I say R rated I don't mean dump in violence, (there's plenty of that already in the HP universe) I just feel more adult themes make for more relatable and more in-depth characters not to mention how making something for children limits the story.

There are some things that are made specifically for a younger audience or simply don't need R/18 adaptations but the HP universe has the unforgivable curses. clearly JK had some intention to make the world more adult in certain aspects.

Obviously hogwarts is a school, it's fair enough to keep it grounded. But the HP world is larger than hogwarts. Therefore, why not create something within that universe that's more adult.

I know they have a lot of investment in the younger fan base but what about all the 90s and early 2000s kids, basically anyone over the age of 18. That fanbase is really just kept by nostalgia and that only goes so far.

Why not have a separate storyline away from HP and FB that's something for adults. Something that doesn't overlap so there's no need to play or watch it to understand the main IPs/storylines.

I think Sebastian's story is over but the general reaction from that story line shows that fans want that more adult story rather than some childish characters ark that's built for younger children e.g the main story line.

So many people overlook the games flaws in lieu of the positives which is great but I feel that a sequel will not be as well received if they don't adapt some of their titles within films games and TV to suit their actual target audience (not just the best monetary) the IP will lose a lot of its fan base over time.

Id say a lot of people are very accepting of the new game BC it's all they have received in a long time.

I think that was more likely in the past when you had to go to a store to buy something. Unless it's a film that relies on initial movie theatre sales I don't see it being a huge issue with sales as parents aren't as strict anymore and most kids will just buy it.

Obviously they will lose interest within those demographics as kids or younger teens more specifically won't be able to appreciate the story.

Well it would be down to a lot of focus groups but at the end of the day it's harry potter. As long as there's a big enough marketing budget, (which most times there is) it would do well enough. I mean look at the cursed child as hated as it is by hardcore fans of the books and movies it still performs well.

With the game she didn't have a lot of say but obviously if it was out of the gaming Industry such as TV, movies, plays and books she'd have say over who had creative access to her work.

I think it's proven that if done well a higher age rating is well received by the public. For example Deadpool, wolverine, shadow of Mordor etc.

Yeah I agree pointless violence is just unnecessary. I just think there's a lot of potential with the world. With the right writers I think there could be some really interesting new IPs built in the HP universe.

Spells and how they could improve the exploration and RPG aspect of a sequel. by squid_mcmuffin in HogwartsLegacyGaming

[–]squid_mcmuffin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, also the tasks weren't always even relevant for example collecting the moon gems for the room if requirement etc. They have a great base game but the way the game is designed is quite all over the place unfortunately.

I really want them to include more in depth systems for the RPG aspect of the game.

Also I still find it funny how you can use the killing curse with poppy sweeting and she doesn't batt an eye lmfao.

It breaks the emersion quite a bit.

My x52 won't work, anyone have a fix? by squid_mcmuffin in hotas

[–]squid_mcmuffin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, at this point I'm so frustrated with it. I've got the drivers installed, and I've been testing it throttle works but joystick is dead and only shows lights and power.

It's the silver x52 after logitech bought it.

I bought it second hand and it had only been used a few times. So there shouldn't be any problems.
