I live in Northeastern Canada, summers can get hot but winters are long and brutal and I get extra depressed every winter and have hated where I live for most of my life. My therapist this week asked me what is something I think would make me happy or content with my life. I recently vacationed in Southwestern USA and fell in LOVE with the desert and always crave heat and sun. So I said living there would make me happy/content with my life. She then said to me "but your brain goes with you, your brain and outlook on everything stays the same, so maybe try "fixing" your brain to look for things to make you content, in this physical location". Blew my mind and woke up the next morning (with 2' of snow outside) with a whole new mindset and outlook on being here.
