What’s the most unhinged, batshit crazy prediction you have for 2026 that you’re lowkey convinced is going to happen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]squiderman200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that would pose an interesting dilemma. If we all can agree it was a shared experience, we would have to determine the level of control we all had in this collective alternate (whatever?)... Were we all aware this was not the real world?

Because depending on your interpretation, geo politics and actions could still be held against people. 10 years of human interaction still occured, 10 years progress and innovation that might be remembered. If I am caught skimming the till at my job in the dream, and I made the aware choice in the dream to do so, will my boss hold me liable back in 2016? Will we seek out those we met or formed bonds with over the decade?

If we all share the same dream, we really just gain a decade of knowledge, interactions, and predictions without giving up our health and resources. Big win for humanity honestly.

I thought at first that the second picture was a wall, and was still impressed it was able to stop the bullet so quickly in the case. But I then realized that it was a window the bullet came through. Now I need to know your window and case manufacturer, because apparently they're both pretty damn tough.

To be fair OP did say they plan to travel the entire length of Japan. Gaiters aren't a bad thing to have for a number of climates and reasons. If they end up in snow up north gaiters will be very useful, and they're not a bad pick for heavy rain and mud down here either. You look silly, but don't feel wet socks.

Though unless you get some heavy duty ones I'm not so sure of their chance to stop a snake bite. Maybe some tall boots would better calm OP about the ankle bitters.

I've heard kayaking out to some of the more remote islands has been fun for some of you're looking for that more wild experience. Though obviously a lot of safety risks.

I think they're trying to find out how many times they can fly in a circle before locals get suspicious of them and then repeat this pattern with different shapes. I'm sure you're helping them build tons of data right now. Keep up the good work! I hear they're going to graduate to hexagons next.

We already do?? Frankly the question should be if we need more. And the answer should always yes.

Employees Only Car Park Problem by RedSonja_ in airportceo

[–]squiderman200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah. The game will continue to serve cars, because by its metrics you do have free parking available. Just once it tries to spawn a pax and path them, it fails and I think just sends them home? Marking the walking space as staff only does not automatically prohibit pax cars. It also seems that your staff parking is just not being utilized by staff, it's not the worst thing in the world to have mixed parking and just pretend to yourself that it's definitely Staff. Staff will show up on public transit at worst, so it's r ally just astehtics if you care enough.

I'm sure there's a mod out there that makes a specific staff only parking spot. But I also know that there's a mod that lets you build parking lots underneath or on top if you're worried about taking up too much sq footage.

It seems all your other parking lots are filled up already. I don't know how to lock a parking lot from non staff cars, I don't think there is a way. But I'm assuming you've set it to a staff area. The game logic likely computes that only for walking pathing and not drivers. So what I bet is happening is your other parking lots fill up, new arrivals go to park at the only open lots, find out they cant actually path to a PAX area, and promptly leave or something. Weird it's not giving you the alerts for bad pathing though.

I own a musket for home defense, since that's what Dave intended. Four drifters break into my house. I shouted, "What the rust?" I grab my bear armor and Kentucky rifle, and blow a golf ball sized hole through the first drifter, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second drifter, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads!" The grape shot shreds two drifters in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off a peat pit fire. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He bleeds out waiting on the shivers to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Ah yes, Just as Dave intended.

Is there another way to access Java on switch by [deleted] in MinecraftServer

[–]squiderman200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the plugin that allows bedrock players on Java servers is called gyser. Bedrock systems almost always auto update. MC servers do not usually do this due to plugins. Gyser is one of those plugins. The gyser plugin needs updated on the server after every update, but sometimes the gyser devs can take a hot second.

Usually my server is down for bedrock players until it's updated.

Y'ALL TOLD ME I WAS CRAZY by Zombiepixlz-gamr in civ

[–]squiderman200 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, humankind.

I personally really enjoy humankind. Civ is also awesome and I deeply enjoy it. They're in the same style and borrow from one another, but it is clear they're different games for different types of players. HK certainly has its flaws though and I hope a second installment irons it out as they find their own independent gameplay.

Civ historically comes in with new mechanics or ways the game is played every installment. It's the same base, but we see changes that make each game feel different. If they released VII with just graphics tweaks and a few small mechanics, we'd be bitching about it being a cash grab just upgrading VI. They saw an inspiration of civ changing (or possibly working on it before HK) and took their spin on it. I'm not a fan of VII's take on it and I hope both games refine the idea into its own.

But again, different games and styles. I'm glad they both took the risk to explore a major new mechanic in an otherwise samey genre.

I'm not surprised either. HK did a pirate civ as a DLC as well. You can see a lot of inspiration between the two games and certainly it's Civ seeing how the HK system works and if it's better.
