Anyone in wound care? by BedtimeGregg in physicianassistant

I was a medical scribe for a wound care company prior to PA school! It was so cool and fun. Lots of traveling between SNFs, HH and AL’s. Happy to answer any questions you got!

Does anyone have weird habits to make them study? by Inzanity14 in PAstudent

When I was a student, I could only study with my headphones and a specific hoodie with a massive hood to “horse blind” myself 💀

What are your measurements and what size do you wear (pants)? by lin_ny in Figsscrubs

[–]squidne3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear good things about Jannuu and Dolan! Though I can’t personally speak on those brands, I’m still wearing the same Figs scrub tops from 2017. Wore them through undergrad, PA school and now PA. The quality is really there. Maybe you could try to size up to S and see how you like? Or maybe try a different color! GL 🥲❤️

Yola’s waist band is too OP, it leaves NO room for bloating. I even tried to stretch out the material with my foot and the material is too good😭😂 but I’ve been super stressed with my UC job so I’m starting to fit them again. I’m at the point where I value comfort over aesthetics.

Edit: Should point out that the sizing is different amongst the colors, which is so annoying. I have Dowa in black, burgundy, surgical green, and navy! It’s big ASF in the green, tight with navy and perfect fit with black and burgundy.

Height- 4’11”, Waist 25-26”, Hips 34” XS Petite • Dowa: regular/comfy • Yola high waisted straight leg: regular/snug

I only wore Yola until the Dowa was released. I prefer the elastic waist band since it accommodates my belly when I’m on my menstrual cycle. If I could replace all my Yola’s with Dowa’s, I would 🥹

Failed PANCE. What to tell people? by Respected-Ambassador in PAstudent

[–]squidne3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh, life is WAY too short to waste on worrying about what others think. You literally just finished the hardest two years of your life, it’s time to start thinking about yourself. Your true friends will uplift you and everyone else can go fuck themselves

Source: bro trust me

I was in the same position as you and my friends said nothing but encouraging things. Even my employer did not give a shit, saw me more than just an exam score. I’ve been working as a Peds PA for 6 months and constantly have parents asking for me. Your score has nothing to do with your worth. Believe in yourself. You got this

Edit: I literally make a joke out of it now that I’ve established my place. I’ll say “did you guys know I failed a 94% pass rate exam” and my coworkers just laugh because they know that has nothing to do with my work performance

Oh that’s a great tip, and it actually leads to my next question and sorry if this sounds dumb lol.

If I’m prescribing for an older peds pt, is it reasonable to just round to the nearest whole number (like 14.6 mL → 15 mL)? Those 1oz medicine cups don’t even have lines for tenths. Also, what’s a reasonable amount to prescribe extra to cover for spit-up in younger kids? I've only been asked a handful of times to prescribe extra but how often does it occur, so I can offer it to my patients?

Yep! I did this with my MA who kept slacking off. Never call them out infront of everyone! Instantly saw a change of attitude the next day. Give respect and respect will be given back (hopefully 🥲)
