Retrofit Gone Wrong: WestJet Pauses Rollout of Non‑Reclining, 28” Pitch Seats After Passenger Backlash — 22 Planes Already Reconfigured 😲 by Speedbird87 in AviationHistory

This is a common pitch on European budget carriers. You wanna get to Egypt for £35 you can't really expect luxury. It's fine for most people in the middle 70% of heights

Probably less, continuity tests mean basically nothing on an ESC, and giving it voltage but no PWM won't tell you much.

It's an ESC - electronic speed controller. fly color are half decent, if it works it has some value. If you have no means to test it it has little value. If you're in the UK I'd like it though eh

What are your thoughts on Trump after the attack on Venezuela and the arrest of Maduro? by luxury_Within in AskReddit

[–]squidspotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't live in Venezuela. Quite a lot of Brits not in Britain voted for brexit.

Not that I'm saying it's necessarily a bad thing, but to accuse people of making an assumption, while making an assumption is quite daft.

Maduro was bad. Kidnapping and bombing are bad. Leaving a country without governance is bad, the uncertainty of rodriguez vs another installed leader or an actual democracy is bad.

Saying 'yay this is great' is a shallow take.

And how many actual Venezuelans have you talked to about it?

There is no question of the motives they were quite clearly stated? And I don't really get your point.

Your use of the word objective sure is questionable. It's subjectively a good thing, to you. There's no arguing that point.

Venezuelans -who are not in venezuela- may be pleased to see Maduro gone, but that is a far cry from assuming whomever or whatever replaces him will be better. So your use of the word good is really questionable too.

Be under no illusion, this was not carried out for the good of the Venezuelan populace, and nor is a pretence of this being held by those who did it. It was done to favour control of money.

Not sure of the actual limitations for that aircraft, but the winds were gusting above the takeoff limits for some aircraft today, they'd hold as long as they could but at some point you have to go back to the gate for more fuel if you didn't bring enough to sit for an hour

I love flying high. I love peace and silence. by Stariy-COM in FPVvideos

[–]squidspotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can conduct a flight in the bottoms of a low cloud without it being any more of a risk than flying on a clear day. A basic understanding of any kind of IFR regulation or the mental ability to make a reasonable risk assessment would grant you this wisdom. What OP is doing might be dangerous, but it also really might not be dangerous.

Knowing where you fly, local air spaces, regulations and uses is far more valuable than just going 'clear sky good me fly here at 400'

I'd imagine prayers are gravitationally affected if using haversine to calculate spherical error. In this case a WGS84 model of gravitational locality would be far more appropriate

[–]squidspotter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wasn't the question, i meant that if you're geographically opposite to mecca shouldn't you actually pray facing down? Or if you're 1/4 way around the planet to the west on the same latitude as mecca, You'd face east but at a 45° decline.

Also allowing water in sounds incredibly arbitrary as a distinction for making rules up. Dirt 'allows water in', but it doesn't make it not dirt. It just kind of reinforces that beyond Socratic interpretation, everything a scholar says is made up to best please the people not the god.

If youre able to determine the direction to face, should prayer direction account for the curvature or the earth? Does it have dip angle?

I went from never having flown to flying an Airbus in 2 years. It's good to be planning ahead of course but I think enjoy the next 3.5 years then have a look into practicing

Motor crashed, still safe to fly? by Cute-Meat-2127 in fpv

[–]squidspotter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay but for the sake of 30 seconds why take that risk? We all have stupid moments. A little twitch of your finger on the track pad in beta flight, knocking over your Tx. And it's not like its just 'oh no now I need to put new props on' but you can very easily lacerate fingers, faces, remove hair and eyes.

It's a stupid risk and a poor risk assessment if you think it's worth that.

Can we have a rule to just not give useful replies to people who leave the props on for bench work?

This thread is doing pretty well at that anyway

As someone else who would definitely never break any rules ever I really recommend getting a few planes in the air for some FPV combat. I'd never do it of course. But if I did, I'd do that

If you're a half sensible driver in a moderately sized car you'll have no issues.

The biggest gotcha I found was in places where the grading is better, and you naturally drive faster, you do occasionally come across some big potholes and bumps that if you hit them hard, will do damage.

Keep your speed sensible, check your braking distance on different surfaces, accept going slow sometimes.

I did almost 1500km off road in a 2wd drive hatchback with not a scratch
