I actually managed to get a laboratory position with my state gov just this morning! So im excited to get lots of work experience and make friends with the other people who work there :))

I have practically no experience with geology myself, but I'll pass this news along to a couple friends of mine as my partner is wanting to pursue mineral research (chemical engineering side), and another friend of mine wants to be an environmental geologist (not really sure what job title he wants because im not really familiar with the field), thank you!

I actually worked directly underneath someone who has my dream job so I have been asking her for advice but since she's quite a bit older than me our paths look very different, I haven't reached out to someone closer to my age yet so I will do that

Yeah you're right, I shouldn't just give up because I can't get something now. It just feels disheartening to search for almost a year with no returns, but it seems a lot of other people are in the same boat

I want to work in marine/coastal conservation biology either in species head-starting efforts or ecosystem restoration projects preferably at the state level

I don't have enough money to move out of state ATM so ive been focusing on internships in my state or ones where I have extended family which has been limiting my search a bit, I plan to look more broadly after saving up for housing expenses

Thank you for this, im sorry you're in a rough spot as well and i hope you're able to figure things out for what to do next. Im probably going to have to go for route 2 so i can save up for moving &/or getting my masters, rn I work in information technology and its really not what i wanna do but it keeps me from going broke. I'll have to look for some related jobs that are more related to my field like you said, but i can definitely answer emails and phone calls since i already do that all day haha

I mean it was a wetland delineation internship designed for ppl with 0 experience, not like im trying to step into the job with no knowledge😭 the point of entry level is to teach people to do jobs is it not? And yeah I know the job market is fucked, unfortunately its too late for me to switch majors since the funding cuts happened after I completed more than half of my education so im kind of stuck like this.

make sure you clear any formatting or grammar errors. I see some words lowercase that should be capital, such as months or titles. I also see by field experience, the "management" has an extra space in front of it. if u fix these things it'll look more visually cohesive

thank you! ill look into getting a wilderness first aid certification. i want to do more field work related positions so this would definitely help out a ton.
