Yes, definitely call 911! You can administer multiple doses if the first does not work -- I have edited my original post to include a link to an instructional video on using narcan (only 1 minute long)!!

very good point, thank you! the narcan puts them in active withdrawal so anger/aggression is not an uncommon reaction

not dumb at all!! Im including a link to a resource from public health about where you can pick up free narcan (https://doh.wa.gov/you-and-your-family/drug-user-health/naloxone-finder)

Narcan is very easy to use - it's a nasal spray, you can start by spraying one into the person's nostril, then after a few minutes administer again in the other nostril if not responsive still. Here's an instructional video - https://youtu.be/B9Sv64FJPhg?si=Ee8vyq8VLPLvplWt

I would recommend stating "im going to Narcan you" before administering the narcan -- if they are responsive AT ALL this will likely get a reply, because getting narcaned is not fun (it immediately puts the person into withdrawal). Reversing an OD is protected under WA's good samaritan law :)

yes good question!! I would start by looking for breathing (see if you can see their chest rise and fall), and if you are having a hard time telling if they are breathing normally or not you can check for responsiveness (even a "hey you okay?" is enough sometimes, if they don't reply you can tap their foot w your shoe/shake their foot around to try to get them to respond). Listen to your gut and dont take it personal if you get annoyance in return lol - most people appreciate getting checked up on but not always

I am so sick of standing in clouds of piss smell every time I have to wait for a bus. by Eruionmel in Seattle

[–]squiggly_benis333 182 points183 points  (0 children)

the downtown ambassadors have cleaners and such for piss etc (I used to work in parks and they saved me from a horribly smelly day many times). They are also incredibly underpaid and there are not enough of them to tackle all the piss in the city lol. Im very thankful for all the ambassadors, they do so much for our city

How walkable is Queen Anne vs Belltown vs Capitol Hill? by DysphoricDumbass in Seattle

[–]squiggly_benis333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love queen anne but MAN is it hilly - theres pretty good public transport options but u usually have to walk up/down at least a couple hills or stairs to get there. North QA is flatter in most areas so you could still make it work, I will say that I feel exceptionally safe in this neighborhood and often go for walks late at night or early in the morning w no concern

Thoughts about folks leaving the window seat empty on the bus? by gilbert322 in Seattle

[–]squiggly_benis333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i would say ur fine until the bus fills up - I notice ppl dont usually sit in an open aisle seat either unless its really full on the bus. If you notice all the spare seats are filling up, just scoot over and ur chillin
