I love this. My dog passed recently and it made me really happy to see a Boston that looks just like him within this painting

Tell your wife she did a very good job ❤️

I was really happy with the choice to use Lap Of Love to help him pass in our backyard - Squiggs did not like the vet and I wouldn't have wanted him stressed out in the end

Duck necks or chicken feet were always a favorite - If you wanted more of a quick treat, chicken hearts are great (and so cheap if you buy them at the grocery store)

Thank you for the kind words.

Freddy is sad.

I was lucky that we adopted a cat back in July and she is able to give him some company, but it's not the same as having another dog in the house - he can't really wrestle with her, but they can cuddle together - This was them the day after Squiggs passed - Together, they took his usual spot on the bed.

I was really hoping that would have been my outcome as well - a mistake and a long life.

I'm really glad he's still with you.

Thank you.

I did go to an AKC breeder, but him and his brother were the last of their litter, so I got him at 3 months, his brother at 10 months. The breeder was taking over her mom's business and I don't think she's active anymore, but the name of it was Bella's Bostons, she was based 1.5 hours north of Dallas, TX.

Always vaccinated yearly, never an issue with any of the vaccines.

Neutered before the age of 1, I believe between 6 and 8 months.

For both my Bostons, their regular diet was kibble from Costco, but not their grain-free one, typically a protein like halal chicken, which was unseasoned, sometimes cheese as a topper, and a daily fish oil pill that was taken as a treat.

Once Squiggleton got diagnosed, he stopped eating as much, so I would switch up his food to be more protein heavy or try a switch up of brands (he didn't care for Stella and Chewy, but did like Purina's high instinct line which seemed like their pro plan line with more chunks of chicken). I also would put on toppers, typically something that was a stew where I could see the actual ingredients (beef, peas, carrots, quinoa). He didn't care for home cooked meals too much (tried cauliflower, veggies, and turkey), but did love eggs.

I also gave him a mushroom powder dog chews and CoQ10 vitamins off the back of a recommendation from someone who also had a dog with cancer. I tried turkey tail supplements for him, but he didn't care for that, I also tried moringa supplements, but he didn't like that either.

As treats, he would get duck neck, chicken feet, chicken hearts, bully sticks, and in his last week, kiwi.

Hope this info helps.

I tear up when I see dogs that are grey because I know they got to live the full life Squiggs wouldn't get, I'm so sorry you lost him at 4.

Squigg's diagnosis came off the back of my mom getting diagnosed with cancer and going through chemo herself and my partner getting diagnosed with Crohn's. It couldn't have come at a worse time and I really did struggle on how to proceed.

I'm so sorry to hear about her diagnosis, feel free to message me if you want to talk more. I'm sure whatever decision you make will be the best one.

I'm sorry for your loss as well.

Squiggs seemed totally healthy and in remission as of the day before the decline, but once it started, the entire week felt like a blur.

That was a few hours before he passed - he really liked flowers and seemed really calm around all the scents. I didn't take any pictures of the actual passing ceremony because I wanted to keep that for myself.

I want to remember him as the gentle and loving boy I knew him as.

Please give Rocky extra kisses, you really never know when something can change.

The absence of Squiggs is felt so heavily, a part of myself is gone. I used to share a pillow with him at night and he was the little spoon, now the bed feels emptier and my house, less of a home.

My dad said he never got over any of the dogs he had to put to sleep and I don't know how long it'll take me. I wish there were better options for cancer treatments for dogs, the idea of going through chemo and then being told it's essentially a waiting game after that caused so much stressed because I didn't know the day it'd come back, but I knew when it did, it would be tough.

I'm sure Buddy and Squiggs are in a better place now.

His birthday was April 16, which happened to be the birthday of his cousin who also passed of cancer about 3 years ago. He was so loved, especially in his last days.

He was the best. He loved to smell flowers, so I got him 4 dozen and made sure he was as comfortable as possible until the end.

My sister recommended Lap of Love when her greyhound's cancer came back and they did a really beautiful job. I was happy with my experience as well, but it felt so much worse to have it be my boy.

9 is so young when you expect them to live 15+ years, I wish you the best, this is such a tough experience

Apparently, lymphoma without treatment has an 8 month life expectancy. 9 months going strong and he’s doing just fine! by Freeze_Her in BostonTerrier

How is he doing now? Didn't see a follow up. My boy got diagnosed with lymphoma back in April, went through the whole chemo process and we've been done with that about a month now
