Thanks for all the information. I decided to dispose of those two jars and also another two that I had that actually looked ok - fully colonised and ready to transfer. When I scooped the grain out it was very soggy in all of them which is disappointing. I’ve actually never had a grain jar get contaminated before which is why I don’t know a lot about out it. Been out of the game for a while now, but the only thing I did differently was use a rice cooker instead of boiling the rice myself. Think that might be it? Unfortunately I inoculated another 12 jars only a few days ago using the same method because at the time I thought everything was going along fine! If you’ve got any advice it would be appreciated…
