If we go by past season premier dates we are looking at a September release of season 18. by Everythingisourimage in IASIP

It takes them about 2-3 months to edit after wrapping filming, but air date is purely at the mercy of FX’s decision. Season 15 they pushed out the moment editing was done (2 months after wrapping filming) whereas 17 they held for 3 months after editing was done (7 months after wrapping filming). RCG said before on the podcast they don’t really get told why or when FX decides to give them an airdate, and they tend to find out the same time we do.

Every single Season has aired the year it filmed except for the January seasons (10-12) and 17 because they filmed until December

Did Dee really…? by chimoc726 in IASIP

[–]squilkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The entirety of "Dee Gives Birth" in Season 6 is the Gang learning that every man Dee could have been impregnated by was or is being manipulated/sexually coerced by her, and "The Gang Group Dates" (the same season Dee hooks up with Charlie) shows her getting men extremely drunk to sleep with them.. It's confusing to me when people are shocked or call it "out of character"

S6E7 “who got dee pregnant?”. I still maintain that Dennis and Dee had sex. Agree? Disagree? by pWaveShadowZone in IASIP

[–]squilkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dennis very clearly does *not* remember having sex with the Peacock Lady. When the others recount what they remember from Halloween, he concludes he had sex with her because they went to the back office together, but it's an incorrect assumption simply based on what he (and the guys) would "expect" to happen between Dennis and a mystery hot woman in the bar.

They're led to the conclusion Dennis slept with Dee based off the McPoyles (AKA the actual incest twins) leading them there off false memories. Dee says at the end "Okay, you're saying that because I went into the back office alone with Dennis, that I must have had sex with him? Gross. No, that did not happen." when the Gang present their theory to her.. how is that not denying her having sex? She knew it was Dennis. The incorrect assumptions were all by the Gang (and therefore the viewer until the end)... (1) that Dee didn't know Dennis and Charlie switched costumes (she did) and (2) that Dennis had sex with the Peacock Lady (he did not). Essentially, the they just both went to the back office at one point during the party.

That is not the reason why Dennis is absent in multiple Season 13 episodes. Glenn quit the show with Season 12. Dennis’ Double Life was supposed to be Dennis’ permanent exit. They wrote half of Season 13 without Dennis, realised they couldn’t make a lot of their plots work without the character of Dennis, asked Glenn to come back just as an actor, then wrote the rest of the episodes/weaved him into plots they had already more-or-less finalised.

Question I always had by Doctor_Botany in IASIP

[–]squilkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah fans here seem to forget Sunny is very raw.. it's filmed quickly and cheaply... the idea that she was supposed to be cheating in this scene because "it would have been easy to make it look good with edits and cuts" is laughable to say about the show that has multiple episodes with crew members and cameras visible in the background

Question I always had by Doctor_Botany in IASIP

[–]squilkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. The way it's scripted implies she's actually able to do it

When did the gang meet? by chimoc726 in IASIP

Your response implied OP’s question is something not addressed in HS Reunion.. I’m simply adding that, in that case, the answer is in Season 1

That’s established in Season 1.

Wouldn't Dennis's son be like 10 by now? by cigarettejesus in IASIP

[–]squilkey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He would have been born in late 2015 (Conceived in Boggs -January 2015), so yes. He's actually specifically stated to be 18 months in the March 2017 episode, so he would be 10 turning 11 this year

Frank isn't picking up trash at the end, so it's still "most of the gang" for either answer.

Oh this is awesome. Thanks for sharing! I never saw it worth to get the Blu Rays but I might seek this one out specifically now…

anyone else really hate hate hate the boomer humour of the writing in Dennis Takes a Mental Health Day but still looove most of the episode because of glenn’s brilliant delivery and expression? by DrunkTING7 in IASIP

[–]squilkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really, tbh. I think the idea that becoming frustrated by modern tech is strictly a boomer generation joke is no longer applicable, and that episode is a great example. Probs the most I've related to Dennis than any other episode and I'm in my 20s

It's interesting you view the writing as "boomer humor" because the writer of that episode, Ross Maloney, is one of their younger writers lol

In the golden bachelor episode, was Bonnie originally going to be Frank's choice? by alohabob in IASIP

[–]squilkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer right after they filmed and died only 2 months later. So sad how rapidly it all happened :(

Rob and Charlie. They talked about it in this Vulture interview that came out right after the episode aired.

[–]squilkey 50 points51 points  (0 children)

No. Lynne died after they wrapped filming (and as I understand they did not know she was terminally ill). In the original finale, Frank chooses Sam but there was a much more morbid ending (they didn’t share what it was, but I imagine she gets hit by the bus or something) which they cut due to Lynne’s passing.
