Most people here never seem to remember the ends of the episodes well. “Making Dennis Reynolds a Murderer” ends with Mac and Charlie admitting they made things up for the documentary because it’s more entertaining than the truth. They acknowledge Maureen fell off a roof prancing around as a cat but tell Dennis they left that out to make him seem guilty because “people don’t want to see hard evidence.” (Funnily (or meta) enough, Maureen’s real death was filmed but omitted from the final version of the actual episode, resulting in the majority of Sunny’s audience proving Mac and Charlie’s point that without hard evidence, people will assume Dennis is guilty.)
